Wants to go out after spay

Somehow she got out because she got pregnant LOL She's probably just stressed from everything she's been though recently, including hormone changes. Just keep an eye on her and if you notice anything really out of the ordinary make a vet appointment to discuss.

Wants to go out after spay

Doubtful she has any memory of even being pregnant. Cats don't have emotions like humans do - they live in the moment for the most part. Sounds like she's used to be letting outside and it's become a habit, so she's asking. Obviously you must keep her indoors until she is at minimum fully healed...

    Taking a Guess

You see similarities because all purebred cats are derived from domestic cats. Domestic came first. Once breeding became popular, the nice/good attributes became incorporated to create the specific breed. They are nice looking but typical looking short hair domestic tabbies.

Anyone else feel the 4.8 magnitude Earthquake centered in New Jersey today?

The only aftershocks we felt was the 3.8 on Friday. It was brief, but noticable.

Anyone else feel the 4.8 magnitude Earthquake centered in New Jersey today?

I'm in north NJ and sure felt it. I knew right away because I've felt them here before here though not that strong. It lasted a long time for us and our almost 100 year old home rumbled and groaned a bit LOL, stuff shaking but nothing fell. One of the cats got out of sorts over it for a bit. I...

Question of the Day, Saturday, March 23

Some shirts. There's a specific brand and type I like because they are very casual and feel good. Many of my older ones are starting to look kind of shabby (tho good for sleeping in).

    Gypsy - Possibly A Chantilly-tiffany?

There's no specific personality for any cat, breed or no breed. People like to make assumptions but it really comes down to how well a kitten is raised/socialized.

How did you memorialize your pet?

I had a pawprint made when Casper passed. It's in a nice little leather box on our fireplace mantel, along with his collar sitting on the box. I also had a portrait done from a photo I'd taken of him by an amazing artist I've commissioned work from previously. It's a small oil painting and is...

Question of the Day, Sunday, March 10th

Dislike. I rarely drink it in almost any form. I drink plain, nonsweet iced tea in place of it.

Is my cat a main coon?

I have a purebreed Maine Coon and yours, I'm sorry, looks nothing like her. As others said it's a domestic long hair cat, no breed at all.

What's your process for cat litter?

The boxes get scooped daily, in the morning. Both cats tend to use the box at night the most so that works out really well for us and them. Top off with fresh litter as needed (weekly give or take). Small garbage bags are our disposal method of choice. Spot clean if needed (rarely). I think...

Question of the Day, Saturday, March 9

Much later than most people - not really even sure my age. Maybe 19-20? My dad tried to teach me but that didn't go very well. Parents really aren't the best choice IMO. Finally had some friends help out. Took my drivers test 3 times because I kept failing parallel parking (I still can't do...

    Chronic ear infections

I'd suggest looking into a feline allergist. My younger one had recurrent ear infections that turned out to be related to environmental allergies. She's been successfully treated for years now. Has not had an ear infection since the treatment really kicked in, which was a few months from when...

Cat sitting in litter box after surgery

A lot of cats take comfort in the scent of their litterbox. I see this a lot during adoption events. It could just be that since he's not feeling 100% that this is the case for him too. Plus gabapentin will slow them down so that could be part of the reason. Hope he recovers well and if you are...

Question of the Day, February 21, 2024

I sleep on the left side, away from the door. I'll sleep on either side but always want to be away from the door. In this house, the left side has a nice view of the trees surrounding that part of the house and it feels like being in a treehouse. I usually wake up tired but even with a bad...

Question of the Day - Monday, February 12, 2024

My husband and I went to one his live discussions in NYC some years ago. It was at the Planetarium. My husband got to ask him a question and was so star struck (no pun intended) that he could barely form the sentence LOL.

Rarely but I do sometimes. I've been enjoying Anderson Cooper's episodes about grief. Very moving and informational.
