Dude is, unfortunately as expected, not getting better at all. He keeps losing weight and he sheds like crazy. He's on a prescription diet, but is being spoon fed now, pretty much. He still enjoys a slow walk around the house and now naps a lot, too.
He's having a vet appointment one of these...
For a while, we were able to avoid fish with Kittica, but now I have to throw some in here and there. She's become so picky and fussy, that there are only some brands/flavours she'll touch. And even then, she keeps asking for variety.
Oof, too bad they only come as 3 ouncers. :/
Otherwise, I am looking forward to those because I don't know anymore what to feed our picky eater. She is absolutely unpredictable and half of the time I am throwing something away.
Grey Dude is not really doing better, but the vet has been helping him not suffer, at least. Or that's what they say.
There's a chance his liver is affected as well, but at this point, they are not certain. He is on a special prescription diet and is to be kept away from any kibble or other...
As far as adding water to her wet food meals... I try. Sometimes it flies, but mostly she just refuses to touch any of it. She's weird and picky sometimes, yet not nearly as much as I hear some cats are.
Thanks everyone.
She really seems fine and healthy, and the vet said not so long ago that she was just fine. The main concern was, well, the fact I was clueless. But now it's getting better - I'll keep an eye on your new thread, NutroMike, too.
The fountain in the hallway serves no purpose...
My in-laws' cat was diagnosed with cancer today, after just a few days of vomiting and some rapid weight loss. It's in his kidney and it is, apparently, some rare form.
The cat is between five and eight years old, he's been neutered and declawed and that's all we all know - someone literally...
Yup, I recently switched to the clumping thing, so I could monitor the clumps. And I'm happy with what I see, there are several on a daily basis, pretty big as well.
I am not worried enough to have her urine tested, I just realized the other day that I had no clue how much water a day a cat...
I suppose I shouldn't really worry, then?
The fountain was delivered yesterday and we put it together. She is interested in it... but just enough to put her feet in it and splash around. Maybe someday she'll drink from it, too.
Luckily, it was on sale, so we got it for about $35.
I just can't figure out if she drinks enough on a daily basis. Well, actually, she does not drink at all. She used to, months ago, when we first got her and when she ate pretty much dry food only. Ever since we switched to about 95% wet, she doesn't care for her water bowl at all. I can't say...
We have one cat and she eats half a tablespoon of dry today, and that's her afternoon and midnight snack. It's Wellness CORE or Merrick Before Grain (chicken).
The rest of her diet is canned and we're still experimenting with pretty much all premiums. She won't eat too repetitive a menu, so we...
We feed mostly wet with half a tablespoon of dry a day. We have no problems with Wellness CORE, but what we alternate with is Merrick Before Grain, the yellow (chicken) one.
They finally came out this last weekend. Five of them. Four are big, strong and looking perfectly fine, the fifth came out a bit later, is smaller and the other four seem to be pushing him away from the teets. Either way, he's gaining weight and eats hopefully enough with some help (my friend's...
We have carpet from Menards or Home Depot or whatever it was, where I found it. Pre-cut scraps kind of thing. She's happy with it and I've never noticed litter anywhere around the house.
A friend of mine, cat newbie, ended up with a pregnant cat. They were about to go in to get her spayed, but the cat was faster with her plans. They'll keep the kittens, so that part is not that big a deal. This will be the cat's first litter; she's pretty young.
However, they wonder about a few...
