I had the same problem. When Festus was a kitten he had bad breath and the vets were not concern about it. When I took him in last August for his first annual checkup/shots the vets told me he had gingivitis. I could have cried, he’s only a 1 ½ years old. I fed him dry, wet and Feline Greenies...
I have a long hair cat and he likes to be combed while heâ€8482s eating. I comb him 2 to 3 times a day for about 2 minutes each. He walks away when he doesnâ€8482t want to be combed anymore. I have 3 combs and I rotate them.
Four Paws Mat and Tangle Remover...
Ducman69 I have the same Eureka hand held vacuum. I bought it for the carpeted stairs and the rug Festus loves sleeping on. It does a good job sucking up litter and cat hair.
I also use the Hoover Flair upright stick vacuum for the cat litter. It does a good job picking up litter off of hard...
Sounds like you are in the same boat as me. I did not have any problems getting Festus to eat good quality dry but wet food is another story. Iâ€8482ve tried many varieties and he just does not like. So far he will eat Friskies pouches and Fancy Feast Gravy Lovers. A couple weeks ago I did buy...
My cat loves the dry but will not touch the wet. Just buy a couple cans to see if your cats will like it. The chunks are huge so you may want to chop it up a little and it's only available in a 3oz can.
Does the chunks look the same as the chunks in the pouches? Festus will not eat the pouches anymore. If the can version is different I would like to give it a try.
Giving cats some grain will help control the urine pH. If the catâ€8482s pH is too high or low he or she will most likely end up with UTI. The best way to control pH is the water intake. A lot of cats do not drink enough water. Another way is wet foods. If the catâ€8482s main diet is wet he or...
I was hit with a tornado last year on June 21st. I grabbed Festus and went to the basement. We did not lose the house but it took major damage. I held him for 4 hours then finally stuck him in his cat carrier. He didnâ€8482t want to be held any longer and there was shattered glass in every room...
Welcome to TCS.
I had this problem a few times. I would give Festus a few treats and while he was eating that I would try to wipe. This method took a few days. Now I just get the butt fur trimmed every 6 months.
I just got back from the pet store and they just started carrying these. I bought 1 of each flavor (8). I opened the chicken & Salmon and Festus took a couple of bites and walked away. The food looks exactly the same as the food in the Wellness pouches. I wonder if both are made by the same...
Thanks for sharing your discovery. I didnâ€8482t know NB had pouches. I cannot wait to try them out. I hope Festus will like them so I can eliminate the Friskies pouches. Wellness pouches are $1.20 each so $.99 is not bad.
Dry: Taste of the Wild and FROMM Gold mixed.
Wet:Friskies pouches, FF Gravy Lovers and Weruva pouches.
I am really struggling with the wet food. Festus does not flip over wet food and the 3 above are the only ones he will touch. He will not eat more than 1.5 oz a day.
I'm having the same problem but it's with the Wellness pouches. The gravy is more like jelly and the chunks looks different too. It does not matter what flavor or store I buy them from.
I have a himmy too and the furminator does not work for me. Festus's fur is soo thick and the prongs on the furminator is only about 1/4" in length. All it does is combs the top surface.
I buy the cheapest brand zip-lock sandwich bags, box of 50. A bag lasts 1 1/2 days and when it's full I fling it in the trash. I only have one cat so a box last two months.
Has anyone heard of and tried Lotus cat food? Their food is not grain free but Iâ€8482ve been trying to find good quality grain food. They do not have a big selection in cat dry food (kitten, adult & low-fat) and nothing for wet yet. I havenâ€8482t tried this yet but I will buy a bag when I need...
