    Anal Sac Removal

Hi fellow cat lovers. My 10 year old female cat has been having anal gland issues for the past few months. She seems to have a recurring abscessed left anal gland. The last time I was at the vets office, they mentioned the idea of removing that problem gland. I've read on the internet that can...

    DELAYED, prolonged vaccine reaction

Update on Bitsy. She seems to be doing better. Still not back to exactly how she was before all this. She doesn't play with her toy mice like she use to. Not sure if it's because she doesn't feel well or if it's because she has a new 12 wk old friend to play with now so that takes up most of her...

    DELAYED, prolonged vaccine reaction

Glad both your babies are doing well. All these health issues have me really stressed out. Bitsy exhibited fever and lethargy but she was still eating just fine even with a 105.2 fever. Now she still eats fine, the fever is gone by she's just lethargic. She's gotten a little better but...

Lethargic cat with high fever but still eating

How were they able to determine that Mango had a vaccine reaction? It seems like most vets scoff at the idea a vaccine reaction can happen beyond the first 24-48 hours.

Lethargic cat with high fever but still eating

Update on Bitsy cat. I took her to a specialist this morning and left her so they could do some blood work as well as x-rays. They didn't find anything abnormal in either. She did have a slight elevated temp of 102.9 but the doc wasn't sure if that was just due to being anxious at the vet...

    DELAYED, prolonged vaccine reaction

Thank you for all that information. This is also one of the big reasons why I will be taking Bitsy to a specialist, to get a second opinion but also so somebody else can see her records of what she had been given and raise some flags and make sure there are no lasting effects of everything...

    DELAYED, prolonged vaccine reaction

I already put probiotics and digestive enzymes in her food. Maybe I have that to thank for her stools not being absolutely horrid by now.

Lethargic cat with high fever but still eating

It was felocell 4. If you look up what the reactions are, it says they can start 7-21 days after and last from 3-30 days or something like that. They can have fever, lethargy and anorexia. Bitsy just had fever and lethargy. Since she's done with her 1 year boosters, she'll only be getting...

Lethargic cat with high fever but still eating

Did more tests and everything came back normal. She's still eating and drinking and using the litter box. Her temp is normal. I was talking to an out of state friend who is a vet. She did some asking around about my situation and one of her friends has had several cats come in the last month...

I just called my vet and asked what vaccine my Bitsy was given and it was in fact Felocell 4.

    DELAYED, prolonged vaccine reaction

White Shadow, she has been given a host of things. On July 1, they gave her an injection of both Convenia and Metacam and sent me home with Onsior and Verafkox to give to her orally. I gave her one dose of Veraflox that evening. The next day, they gave her the Onsior. On July 3 & 4, they gave...

    DELAYED, prolonged vaccine reaction

I have a feeling my cat may be affected by this. She's a very healthy 1 year old that runs on rocket fuel and she has big eyes like saucers. She constantly harasses our 8 year old at all hours of the day. She got her 1 year boosters and rabies on June 22. On June 30, I noticed her starting to...

Lethargic cat with high fever but still eating

Back to the vet we went this morning. She's eating and drinking fine, no fever, but still lethargic. They took more blood to run more blood work and also do a blood smear to look for more obscure things. I also had them retest her for FIV/Felv since she was so young when she was originally...

Lethargic cat with high fever but still eating

we are actually 12 days post vaccination. I know it sounds far fetched because her symptoms didn't come on until a week after. I was talking to a neighbor of mine who was a vet tech for several years with a specialist and she said they would see delayed onset reactions a lot. Some even 3 weeks...

Lethargic cat with high fever but still eating

Update on Bitsy. I talked to the vet this morning and he said her fever gone. He was going to take her off IV fluid and see how she did and call me back later in the day. If her temp didn't rise once she was off IV fluid, we could bring her home. Several hours later, I got a call saying I could...

Lethargic cat with high fever but still eating

So I heard back from my vet last night. He said Bitsy was doing well and they will take her off IV fluid and see if she continues to remain stable and if so, we can bring her home today. I asked if he thought it could be FIP and he said he didn't due to the bloodwork and the globulin and albumin...

Lethargic cat with high fever but still eating

I've had the kitten tested for FIV/Felv and that came back negative. He's also been dewormed. The fever did go down a bit from 105.2 to 103.5 overnight when I brought Bitsy home and had gone down further to 101 after she was put on IV fluid at the vet office. She was still on IV fluid at the vet...

Lethargic cat with high fever but still eating

She is still on fluids. She was eating fine when she was at home even with her high fever. They have not done a fecal test yet. The fecal test done on my foster kitty came back negative so I know he didn't bring anything to the group. Bitsy and her older sis Megan are strictly indoor kitties so...

Lethargic cat with high fever but still eating

So I heard from the vet this morning. Her temperature has climbed up to 102.5 which is the top of the normal range even though she has been on IV fluid throughout the night. She hasn't eaten a lot so they syringe fed her a little this morning. He said the lack of appetite could be due to her...
