I am really confused, he just came downstairs to have a snack, and was looking ok, but not quite there, it seems he is up and down ... this is really eating away at me.

Piki also breathes heavily at times... my vet says his lungs are fine though.

Yup, thank goodness all is fine, and Piki is almost back to normal except that he is not as receptive or happy about being touched & brushed. I am keeping a watchful eye on him. he also spooks more easily at the simplest things. I hear this is common after and during such illness.

Primal ... perhaps... he is over protective and very watchful with my mom.

Primal sounds like it! He literally reminds me of a lifeguard warning a person to get out of the water!!

That is a very good point, but if any one of our other bedroom (doors) is closed, even his - where his bed is & he sleeps 99% of the time - he will not have such an immediate nor strong reaction, as soon as my mom is getting ready for her bath he is already on the prowl and defensive.

Has anyone seen this? everytime my mom is in the bath my 10 yr old tabby Piki is extremely restless!!!! He meow's loudly and if the door is not totally closed he will push it open and walk into the washroom & walk right up to her and look VERY concerned, almost trying to warn her about...

Thanks, we espcet the results in a few days. Piki is almost 100% .... but we are still very concerned as you can imagine.

Update: Piki is almost back to 80% perfect health.. at least he is behaving like so. The official blood test results come back this week.

Piki is doing much much better, he actually came to the door to greet me when I got home from work. He is almost 80% !! I appreciate the resources & links.

Piki has not eaten very much & we have had to resort to bribing him with tuna and placing him meds in tuna. Did you notice any other side effects?

Piki my 10yr old Tabby started acting odd Saturday morning, he has never been ill prior. Never. Compulsive walking and walking in circles as if possessed. - Pressing the head against hard surfaces. - not quite mood swings but grooming while taking breaks from eating (not manic grooming). -...
