    Nutmeg

That is so sad he was so young and you didn't get much time with him. The true blessing is he didn't have to go through any of that alone. He had a safe home and love to keep him safe at the end. He was a cutie pie. I'm sorry you didn't have a chance to know him longer.

Pu, Perineal Urethrostomy - Non-stop Licking

This upcoming Friday, September 20th will be 5 weeks since my cat's PU surgery. I was told to leave his e-collar on for 4 weeks. Last week we got permission to take it off since the surgical area is healed. We took it off last Friday evening and within 3 hours he had licked it to the point of...

Anyone Have Experience With The Pu (perineal Urethrostomy) Male Surgery?

We had the PU surgery done on our 9 year old cat a few weeks ago. It's going well, but his recovery has been stressful on us and our two other cats. I am able to stay home with him and watch over him. We do not regret doing the surgery or the hours we've put into nursing him back to health...

Young cat too much for old cat

We rescued a two-year old stray three months ago, who was declawed front and back. He was very loving. Took him to the vet, he had a tape worm, ear mites, and fleas. We fixed him up and slowly introduced him to our old cat, about 14, over two months. Now, they like each other, but play too...

Anyone ever had Chemo on a cat?

I went through this decision about a month ago. My vet surgeon said many cats do well with chemo, but the results are unpredictable and that the chemo could kill him. And he is healthy, just older. So, I was opting for not doing it. Fortunately, I didn't have to make the decision as it turns...

Update on kitty with mast cell tumor/No surgery or chemo!

Yes, he has a little "hole in his head', right above his eye. It is about 4 mm deep (about 1/8" deep). His eye and eyelid look fine. Just a little greasy from some ointment the doc had on there. Can you see the pic: http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z...her/Kitty1.jpg

Update on kitty with mast cell tumor/No surgery or chemo!

Praise the Lord, I had a miracle yesterday. His cancerous tumor which I thought would spread and kill the kitty has been cured..for a mere $1,071.00, but he is worth EVERY penny!!! The vet opthamologist called yesterday with the best news possible. He mentioned a C02 laser that he would use...

    Are some cats sneezers?

My cat started doing it more than usual. After he had three teeth pulled, the sneezing all but stopped. I think as a human does though, they will sneeze occasionally, even a fit of sneezing. "Stuff" irritates their noses too.

I'm giving my kitty Pet Promise since all of the recalls. Dr. Weil puts his stamp of approval on it.

    surgery and chemo?

Thanks for the good vibes. I appreciate it much. I talked to the surgeon yesterday and she said that the chemo could KILL my sweet kitty, so that is a 100% emphatic NO to chemo. I have an appt. on May 30th for the ultrasound. For now, I'll put it out of my mind as much as possible.

    surgery and chemo?

I did get a second opinion, however, I'm going for a third with a vet opthamologist. And, I'm going to do the abdominal ultrasound to see what is going on with his liver and spleen...hopefully nothing. I will do right by this cat. I love him too much to let him suffer. The surgery may be too...

    surgery and chemo?

As much as I LOVE this kitty, sometimes heroics are not in their best interest. I left the vet office crying yesterday and have cried many more times since then. Who knew you could love a cat this much????

    surgery and chemo?

My beloved kitty, age unknown (estimated to be about 12 or 13 years old) is potentially a sick kitty. I had his teeth cleaned last week and they pulled three teeth. However, he has a tumor above his eye that we've been watching for just over a year. While they were doing the dental work, they...
