Thats fine, no one cares. Every cared when I was thinking of putting her outside, no one seems to care how well she is doing.
Oh well, guess no one will care that she wasnt around yesterday...go figure
The other day I was taking my son to daycare and I saw the most gorgeous cat inside of a dog house. It was a tom cat, very big, and he was a marbled tabby (with white) and he had blue eyes!
Ive never seen a tabby with blue eyes except for the picture someone posted a while back about the tabby...
Last night she did the same thing, I think she was hungry. I think one of the dogs ate her food the night before, because when I went down to get her food bowl it was nowhere in sight.
I heard her meowing her loud, classic Siamese yowl and when I opened the door she was sitting under a chair...
Ceci almost always goes in the front corner of her hooded litterbox. If she goes once, she will go twice (or more) and when I come home to do the afternoon scooping there is a HUGE chunk of clumped litter. Its amazing she can produce that much!
Just wanted to update a bit on Samantha. Last night I went down to feed her. Ive been feeding her canned so she smells it easily and gets used to a certain feeding station.
Well I couldnt see her or hear the jingling of her tags so after calling her for about 5 minutes (like she would come!) I...
Maybe you are saying this because of my son? He is only 22 months but he is better with the cats than any older child could be. He flat out ignores them which is the greatest thing for me, so we have no conflicts between them.
BTW, just wanted to update I have her outside Saturday I spent the...
My part of the neighborhood is actually quite calm compared to the 'other' side. We dont have many strays (1 or 2 dogs) and they know not to mess with cats. Laika (our Golden) is very prey driven but is very sweet with the tabby kitten we rescued, so as long as she is introduced and we 'explain'...
The first few times I spoke to Ana (Ceci's foster mom, Samantha's hero) the behaviors were just appearing and we spoke of medicating. When the behaviors became worse we did medicate her (cant remember the name) but we decided it wasnt a long term solution. She was on the meds for two weeks and...
I dont see that happening any time soon, the problem is she seems to hate being indoors. I tell my husband she seems like a caged lion.
But if this WERE to happen I honestly say i'd have to let her back in, I could never turn my back on her.
As for 'predators' the closest thing would be a stray dog, and they are smart enough to know you dont mess with kitties. I was quite worried about our Golden who has a VERY high prey drive but she has been a big love with the rescued kitten, and as long as they are introduced she will leave...
Ive spoken to her 'foster mom' but the thing is her foster mom never really fostered her. She rescued Samantha from a high kill shelter and stayed with her for a little more than a week while Sam recuperated from her spay. She tells me that Samantha was a loving cat (when she was outdoors) and...
This may not be worth much, but Samantha (as another poster said) is semi-feral, she was an outdoor cat before I got her, and already a young adult. I think this may be why she never learned to use the box properly.
Also, she is fixed, UTD on shots, healthy as can be. She would have another cat...
Well I think I need to take a break from here. Ive failed as a pet owner. This may not sit well with most of you but I need to rant.
I STILL have Samantha my adopted cat from hell. I am not getting rid of her but she is going outdoors, and I mean today. I just cant deal with it anymore. She...
What a pretty cat! My sons grandmother had a litter of kittens, from a feral tabby female, and boy was there ever diversity in that litter! One was a seal point kitten who couldve easily passed for a purebred Siamese, one was fluffy white girl with Raggie markings and the other one was a flame...
BTW, Calicos are always tri-color. If they were bi-color they wouldnt be Calico (i.e. they would be black and white bicolor, or orange and white)
A Calico is named for its 3 distinct colors, white, black and orange/red, or in the case of dilutes, grey, white and apricot.
Calicos are a color, as everyone else has said. You say many appear to have siamese/oriental in their backgrounds, and for calico moggies I have found this to seem true. Alot of Calico moggies I have met have the thin face, expressive eyes, some have lean bodies, small heads etc. When my Ceci...
Congrats on the baby!
Sorry about the c-section, I know you must be feeling bummed. I am also pregnant, my first child was a natural birth, but with these two my odds of a c-section are big.
I was so upset at the thought of having a c-section, but ive come to accept it. To me, it doesnt matter...
Ceci gets zero human food. I swear she is just about the pickiest cat I have ever seen, she doesnt even like wet food! She turns her nose up at everything. Once though, I gave her a piece of chicken from a pot pie, but when offered the second time she turned up her nose.
Samantha on the other...
