    Pet food recall indictment

Here's a slightly more detailed version of the story. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/...r=HOME_3798973 According to this version the owners of Chem Nutra knew that the wheat gluten was shipped into the country under "false pretenses" but did not know that it was toxic. If they knew it...

    old cat constipation

When Kolohe (age 10) was constipated last August I tried pumpkin and hairball meds. He refused both. I finally read about Slippery Elm powder and tried it. It worked. I bought the capsules and now add a little to his food every two-three days. Just cut the capsules open and mix the powder...

What Works Well For Constipation In Cats?

I know it's already been mentioned but Slippery Elm worked for Kolohe when he was constipated. I bought the capsules and hid a bit of the powder in his food. Kolohe refuses pumpkin or any gel type medication so Slippery Elm was the last resort and it worked.

a random question with a poll

I have never smoked and never even considered starting. When I was growing up my mother was a regular smoker and my father smoked occasionally. My mother always said she wished she had never started and I guess I took her advice. She finally did quit when she was in her late 70s.

Tries to bury food after eating it.

Tiggy does this with certain foods. Sometimes it's with food he likes, other times with food he's not so fond of. Either way, I've always assumed he was trying to hide it.

    Green Pea and Duck

My crew is eating the canned Venison and Green Pea. The reaction has been mixed. Fluffy will barely touch it. The others eat it happily at times and at other times pick at it. The first time I served it they all ate enthusiastically, so their reaction to it has cooled with time. Picky...

    Vaccines

My vet currently recommends the upper respiratory vaccinations every three years for cats over about age 5 as long as they are not exposed to unvaccinated cats. For cats under age 5 he still likes to give yearly vacs. Rabies vaccinations are not required in Hawaii. This is a rabies free state...

    Inflammatory Bowel Disease

I have no direct experience with IBD in my cats but based on my reading/research the key is to find a diet that will not irritate kitty's intestinal tract. You should start with unique protein and carbohydrate sources that your cat has not eaten before. I know some members here have had luck...

    New Passport Law ??

It's not taking so long to get passports now that peak travel season is over. I applied for my passport last month and had it in less than two weeks. The woman who took my application said it would take 2-4 weeks so I may have been extraordinarily lucky.

    Bladder problem - please help!

The web site you referred to mentions squeezing the bladder to help the cat release urine. Did the vet discuss this with you? That would seems to be the most important thing at this point. In addition to the issue of over stretching the bladder it seems to me that toxic wastes could build up...
