Thank you to everyone for all your feedback. Well, great news! Felix is no longer scratching at the door!
Like all of you advised, we simply ignored him! We had also fed him on a couple of occasions at night (they generally free feed from dry) but we gave him some wet later at night...
I can't remember when it started, but it has been going on for at least two months now. (We never let the cats into our room at night)
Felix stands outside our bedroom door and meows, and scratches at our door. I usually get up, and he is usually quite affectionate. I usually pet him and lead...
My two do similar things too! Felix has a thing about pens, and loves to bat them about the room - then he sits on it, then hides it under the rug from Gillan!!!!
The vet seemed to think it was just a 'habit'.
I'm pleased to say that Felix hasn't peed in the corner for a few days now! I bought some feliway online, and I think this may help reinforce this. One day at a time!!!
I have noticed this kind of behaviour with one of my cats, with certain males we know who aren't the cleanest of people (to put it politely!) They must love the smell!!!
Felix has been better recently, after I introduced another litter box, lifted the smelly carpet and put foil where he likes to pee.
However, just noticed he has done it yet again! I have used an enzyme cleaner called 'rug doctor' which is really just to get rid of odours.
Can anyone please...
WOW! Thanks so much for all your info! Firstly, I can't seem to find NOKOUT or Cat attract in the UK?
I've added a new litterbox - different to our current one - he is still using the litter boxes (both of them, but is still occassionally using the carpet too). I have eucaplyptis (sp?) oil -...
I have exactly the same problem with my cat Felix. He has been peeing on my hall carpet - in various corners. I took him to the vet to rule out a UTI - which we have. The vet thinks it may just be a 'habit'.
I have used citrus sprays, cleaned the area, etc - it makes no difference. I have even...
I have the litter tray in the hall for Felix and Gillan. Over the past few weeks I have noticed that the hall really smells. I have changed to clay litter from recycled paper. Is there anything which can deodorise which will not harm the cats?
Thanks
Thanks for your interest Stefan. I don't plan to have any more cats - 2 is my limit! Thankfully Felix has settled in great, Gillan has taken to him very well and they are great friends. He is a lovely boy, he was a house cat, and yes he had his vacinations - and had been vet checked. I have...
Thanks to eveyone for responding to my dilema. It has sure been a stressful 2 days! I decided this morning to give Felix back, and called the woman at the shelter. I didn't think it was right for me to have Felix given the circumstances. However, I have just had a call from the re-homing officer...
