I'm going to miss my cats so much

I think I'm being silly about this, but I'm really, really going to miss my cats . I have this great research opportunity abroad, and am leaving today........and won't be back until Oct. 1. My boyfriend will be taking care of the furkids, and I ordered them something from Momofmany's shop...

    Any Experience with Fromm Canned?

I saw some cans of Fromm's at a local store, but was concerned about the tomato paste and the Made-in-China for wet food (interestingly, lots of human foods are made with ingredients imported from China, including stuff I never thought of, e.g. Sara Lee Brand products!). I emailed them and...

I want green walls. Does it seem like a good idea?

My bedroom in my last apt was painted green, kinda like the wall color "Bay Laurel" in this Restoration Hardware pic: http://www.restorationhardware.com/r...007&navCount=3 I had white trim, furniture was a mix of white trim, birch, and some matte black pieces. It was very relaxing, soothing...

Picking out new eyeglasses tomorrow! Need opinions!

I like the reddish burgundy ones ("3081") posted by Trout's mom. If you're a brunette, that might be good. If I can figure out how to post a pic, I'll post my recent pair which cost me $$$$$ (heheheh!) -- they're Judith Leiber, very dark red plastic (looks different in different lighting) w/...

Why are vets nicer than human doctors?

That's probably true, too! Ping -- wow, you hold up well given all that you and your family have to go through . Cleft teams (I'm assuming you mean cleft lip/palate) are pretty rare; there's actually a plastics guy at one of the hospitals my school is associated w/ that's an amazing...

    missing cat/suspicious neighbor!!

I thought it might be good to "refresh" Marvin's pics in this thread . And to let you know we're still keeping you guys in our prayers Is there any document/bill of rights that you signed when you entered their housing? If not, who says you can't keep Pete (can they force you to get rid of...

Why are vets nicer than human doctors?

Thanks for showing both sides, CarolPetunia! Too bad medicine's not like it used to be (the really old docs, now retiring, have the best stories about taking care of their patients and how all that changed w/ the advent of crazy lawsuits and HMOS, and ridiculous big-pharma-pricing, etc.)...

    Sleepy cats thread

I love this pose...it's kinda like the "deadbug" pose, all fours in the air!

Why are vets nicer than human doctors?

Somewhat true, but a lot of us actually want to help people . The pay is compensation for the expertise, actual cost, compensation for education/training ($160,000 undergraduate college + $200,000 medical school + loans while you're making the salary of a fastfood manager while working 90-100+...

anyone have experience with colon cancer?

After bowel surgery, the bowel is in a sense "stunned" and takes a little while to get back to its regular behavior. Some people return to normal faster than others. They always check for these before advancing/changing diet from nothing to liquids to softs to solids, etc.: 1. Passing gas; 2...

Sigh going to health dept. today

Good luck tomorrow, Ping I'm glad something finally turned up so that you can be seen soon. I think you mentioned earlier that you could get a pap from somewhere for free/low-cost; that's probably a good idea,, too. Maybe they'll be more careful in looking during the speculum exam. Also...

    Ratatoulle

I went w/ my BF and we're around age 30, no kids (ex/c furkids! ), and it was a great movie...will be one of my favorites. Liked it better than The Simpsons Movie and Shrek3 -- the other cartoon movies we saw this summer. Can't wait 'til it comes out on DVD. I think it might even be funnier...
