Wow! Good job! The last time I had to intervene in a cat fight, I ended up in the ER. (The rather embarrassing part is, I was impressed that my cat could bite so well.) Danny is doing well now, and I make sure to keep him separate when I visit my parents and their cats.
Danny once belonged to my sister's MIL. When that lady passed away, her husband threatened to have Danny destroyed. My sister would never let this happen, but already had a kitty. (Danny is single by nature.) I had recently lost a cat to cancer and my sister knew Danny would be the perfect...
Danny doesn't have a set bedtime, but he gets a little impatient if it gets too late. (In my Poor Richard-style life that is anytime after 11:00.) Of course this does nothing to prevent him from waking me in the small hours if he is hungry, playful or just plain restless!
I don't have AC, but my new apartment is on the bottom floor of the building (next door to another) and gets very little direct sunlight. If it gets too warm I just wipe down Danny and myself with a damp cloth. The evaporation does the trick!
Danny does this too. It's his way of telling me that play/cuddle time isn't over yet. He never hurts me and I find it so cute, I always give hime a few extra minutes.
One of my current favorites is baked cajun tofu and salad with spicy faux ceaser dressing. It's all vegan and delicous. Pair is with a good local porter and I couldn't be happier!
My sister's cat has always been a "faucet drinker". My cat will only drink from a human glass on the counter. He likes the water to be very fresh. (I change it several times a day.) As for the box, I am more fussy than he is. It is a set of sifting trays, so I try to clean in when ever he...
Danny is also very vocal and always have been. I am afraid I solve the problem in the worst way. I always give in. He loves to walk outside on his leash and if I have the least time, that is what we do. He has me very well trained. I know this is no help for your problem, but I think Danny...
My parents' cat Oliver loves to shred napkins and other soft paper. One day Mom found him sprawled on his back on the kitchen table surrounded by shredded napkins with a big pile of them on his tummy. She said he was too happy and cute to be mad at!
I also have shaky hands. I don't know what causes them but they are life long. I have neurofibromatosis and a fairly severe upper back scoliosis; these might be contributing factors. I also have to laugh at myself. I enjoy hand embroidery but there are days where it is nearly impossible to...
Danny is not afraid of thunderstorms. We don't get many in this part of Oregon, but when Danny and I lived in Ohio, the storms were amazing. I think I was more nervous than Danny was! (Though I loved to watch them!)
I also think you made the right decision. Perhaps the "new bride" is threatened by your long friendship with Ed. Like a selfish child with a new toy, she doesn't want to share.
