    Strange behaviour related to eating????

Thanks Sandie, I have a feeling it's an allergy of some kind. The licking doesn't seem compulsive to me, just reactive, i.e; when she seems to bang into something while playing or landing from a high jump. She may have some joint problems. Either way, I will start to record the behaviours for...

    Strange behaviour related to eating????

She does this mostly with her first meal of the day. I have seen her do this a few times ..after using the litter box... but not for a while. I'm just guessing at the worm thing, as I didn't know what those symptoms would be. She doesn't seem ill at all. She hasn't lost weight. She's...

    Strange behaviour related to eating????

It's not fleas. She's an indoor cat, and it's the only time she does this. I wonder if her teeth are sensitive or she has a tape worm. She licks herself a lot during this behaviour. So it seems to me that she is in some pain??? Thanks for the response.

    Strange behaviour related to eating????

What do you think is going on? Thought I'd check here, before I cart 'Meg Ryan' off to the vet.. I have started paying close attention to this strange behaviour, so I can report it accurately to the vet. She almost always does the following: It starts while she is eating. All of a sudden...

    Playing or Aggression?

Thanks foro the 'yelping' tip. I am happy to say that since I posted my original concern over Meg Ryan's agressive play, she has stopped. She continues to watch my feet as I move around the bed, and has tapped me with her paw (sans claws) as I walked by, but that's it. I like the idea of...

"Meg Ryan" Won't Drink Water!!! Help Please...

Hi, I checked the web site for the drinking fountain and even called long distance (no 800 # outside U.S) but they said they didn't know where to get it in canada and that I should just go to the stores and check myself!!!! So back to square one. I had a busy week-end and wasn't anywhere near...

"Meg Ryan" Won't Drink Water!!! Help Please...

I bookmarked those sites and have taken down the phone number so I can call tomorrow and find out where the fountain is sold in Canada. I appreciate the help. Me & Meg

"Meg Ryan" Won't Drink Water!!! Help Please...

Hi Donna, I'm sorry, but I'm not familiar with this catalogue. I live in Canada, so if it's a U.S. company, it may not be available here. Also, even if I ordered it from here, I have to consider the exchange (about 48% right now) on top of the cost, plus s&h. I wouldn't mind have a look...

"Meg Ryan" Won't Drink Water!!! Help Please...

Thanks for the further suggestions... but she has no peers or siblings. The water is always clean. I switched dishes today, but no evidence that she has sipped so far. Next time I go to town (I live rurally) I will get her a fountain. I do rinse my sink thoroughly after the dishes, so we...

"Meg Ryan" Won't Drink Water!!! Help Please...

Wow... those were all great suggestions, and I believe she could be drinking from the kitchen sink because occasionally I hear her jump down from somewhere in the kitchen, but haven't actually caught her in the act ( I don't allow cats on tables and counters.. yuk!). I pinched her neck and it...

"Meg Ryan" Won't Drink Water!!! Help Please...

I received such great advise my first time that I thought I'd give it another shot. "Meg Ryan" is a long haired Tortoise shell and I got her as a young adult, about 6 months ago, and I have not seen her drink water yet. I have tried to coax, dipping my fingers in and pressing it to her mouth...

    Playing or Aggression?

Thanks Mindy. This makes me feel better. I was really getting nervous. She didn't do it at all today, and I watched her very closely while making the bed. I think you're right about it being more play than anything. I will definately try your suggestions if she persists. Thanks again. Linda

    Playing or Aggression?

First time to this site, but I need an answer, so I hope someone can help. I adopted 'Meg Ryan' about 6 months ago from our local humane society. The vet says she is about a yr. old (add a few months to that now). She is a long-haired, black tortoise shell, and a real sweetie. I don't know...
