    Better quality prescription food?

Hi everyone! My cat had some very serious UTI issues earlier this year that resulted in a major surgery and a mega vet bill for me. The vet has put him permenatly on Science Diet Prescription C/D, which dissolves bladder stones. However...it's an awful quality food! The first three ingredients...

    Messy Bum :(

He's a big cat-- but he's always been, and the vet says while large he's not overweight. I wonder though if perhaps he's put on just an extra half pound or so, and that prevents him from cleaning himself? I haven't noticed any weight gain, but I'm not sure small weight gain would register with...

    Messy Bum :(

So recently, I've noticed Alcott's rear is...um...less than pleasant. I've had to take a warm paper towel to his area about two times a week or more (which he's just THRILLED about, let me tell you). Is there a reason he'd suddenly have a problem cleaning the area? Is there anything I can add to...

    Packaged Raw Diet

Thanks so much everyone! I'm secretly hoping that in addition to being easier for him to eat, that it'll help cut down on shedding too. I'll check those brands out ASAP.

    Packaged Raw Diet

Thanks! The Nature's Variety is in my area. Is it pricey (can't find a price quote online)?

    Packaged Raw Diet

Hi everyone! My cat, Alcott, has horrible teeth-- and they finally caught up to him. Despite a diet of Natural Balance green pea & duck and regular cleanings, he had to have his remaining 8 molars removed. All he has left are his front teeth, and so I'm hoping to switch him over to soft food...

What to do with this baby?

Thanks I actually don't mind paying to get her spayed/neutered or do have the FIV/Leuk test done on her-- IF I know she'll get a home. I'm afraid to commit to fostering her since I really can't keep her for potentially weeks or months. Though I should add-- she's much more Moggie like in the...

What to do with this baby?

I coach at a high school and after practice Monday, a cat ran up to me and followed me to my car. She was so adorable I couldn't bear to leave her, so I brought her home-- but I absolutely cannot keep her; I have one cat already and while I love the critters, one is all I can financially or...

    Teeth

My cat, Alcott, has horrible teeth-- I think. I've never had cats before, so it's hard to be certain, but his breath smells terrible and his back teeth are very discolored at the base. He eats a high quality food, and hasn't stopped eating/wanting to eat at all. I've tried brushing his teeth on...

    Grizzly Salmon Oil

I add it to dry food, but don't really do much by way of mixing-- he cleans the bowl anyway, so I don't see much point in dirtying a spoon every night to mix it.

    Grizzly Salmon Oil

I'm feeding Natural Balance Allergen formula (Venison and Green Pea) so I hope I'll see those results soon! Thanks for the info.

    Grizzly Salmon Oil

I've been giving Alcott Grizzly Salmon Oil in hopes it will control his shedding-- he's allergic to soy, so most no-shed products are out for me. I searched the forums, and while I found a lot of posts regarding GSO for skin health, I couldn't find anyone on if it helps shedding or no. I've only...

    Training out the window...

My cat has long been well-trained to not get on countertops. Sure, he's had the slip up now and then, but overall, he's always been good about it. Until recently. Apparently the allure of counters came knocking and was too wonderful to ignore. He's getting on every countertop in the house...

    Kitty gas

    What's that?

    Kitty gas

I've actually already tried each food by itself, and he was on the Venison and Pea solely for a long time...no fix! Though I appreciate the suggestion

    Kitty gas

Ugh...You know it must be pretty bad when I actually post in a forum about my cat's gas issues. It's been a problem for a few months now, and smells *terrible*, not to mention is a little embarrassing when I've got company over. I've changed his food, but am limited in my options, since he's...

    More inappropriate pooping

I actually did give him back the litterbox for a little bit-- and when there was no improvement I went back to the toilet. In fact, while I had the litterbox out, he never used it except to dig for a bit...

    More inappropriate pooping

I've been dealing with this all summer, and I'm to the breaking point- Alcott is toilet trained (no litterbox). He has never had a problem with this until BOOM, one day, he starts peeing and pooping on the couch downstairs. It's escaladed from there-- pottying on my bed, laundry, blankets left...

    Scratching/Digging at doors

I tried that, actually-- but with it there my doors can't open! Thanks anyhow though...

    Scratching/Digging at doors

My cat doesn't like being shut into or out of certain rooms (can't blame him) but unfortunatly it's simply necessary sometimes. The problem is he digs/scratches the doors to try and get in/out. He wears soft paws, so its not a problem because he's clawing, but the digging is RUINING my carpet...
