Thanks for the advice! I am not sure exactly if the cat rescuer/networker woman who is getting us this vet visit is with an organization or not, but have offered to pay for this visit and possibly a third opinion. Hopefully this vet doesn't see her as a lost cause :(

Toulouse is black like Berlioz but has a personality more like Toulouse in the movie! Perhaps he is their future kitten after all! I schedules a vet visit for tomorrow for the second opinion, thankfully I was able to get a somewhat local rescuer to help with the vet cost!

They won't take it as a special case at any vet school in my state/General area. I called Pomona and uc Davis, both of which have emergency clinics already, so they are not willing to fund any emergency surgeries

I thought it was a total blockage as well, but she had pasty poop then a big very solid poop like her brother. I'm not sure if she's blocked at all by the looks of the poop, but she is getting weaker I think mainly because the hernia is growing pretty quickly and she can't keep up with the size. :(

Not from any rescues, although I haven't been so persistent, as I wasn't sure if she was going to make it! Tomorrow I will try to call around and ask for help. I'm somewhat unsure of even how to ask/explain what's going on so that someone will listen.

I am in the South Bay/west side of Los Angeles in California. The vet seemed to think that her small size with such a large hernia was the issue, and a poor prognosis. I have contacted some other rescuers online and am arranging to hopefully get her a second opinion!
