    Pooping Cat

I'm sorry this is happening Tremlin... How may boxes do you have? (Rule of thumb is one per cat) And How frequently are they cleaned? (at least daily, some cats won't go in a soile box so you might need more than the minimum boxes - but that's RARE). You say "why does he do that" - Out of 3...

    cat language

OMG, I didn't know that It's a running joke around here because my girl LOVES her bum patted or skritched. Ohhhhhhhhh she sticks that bum in the air, even if she's laying down...pat that bum and UP it goes! I can't WAIT to tell my husband this one!!!

Getting cat acclimated to new cat tree.

Great answer! Dangle his favorite toy on the top bed and he'll go after it! Once he's up there, continue to play with him with his toy. Also once he's up there, you can put his toy away and just stimulate him by scratching underneath the bunk. Is your tree in a window with sunshine? They prefer...

    Airtravel

I flew my 2 rescues from Mobile, Alabama to Winnipeg Canada last year and they were both perfectly fine. They took off at 6am and I didn't get them until 5:30pm, and they still had a 2-hour car ride after that. When we got them and put them in our SUV for the trip home, I opened the carrier door...

When do kittens start liking catnip?

I wouldn't worry yet Katherine. Mine were around 8 or 9 months old before they got the catnip crazies...now they are both fanatics and tear apart their catnip toys lol. And that's been the approximate age for my other cats as well.

Is it because they are orphans?

At 6 weeks old, they are too young yet to do their own grooming. Normally at this age it is still done by momma and/or siblings. As they get older, their grooming habits, as this is instinctual, will become more apparent. The fact that they are even minimally grooming each other is encouraging...

Worried.. my cat is acting really strange.. help?

Jenna, I don't think there is cause for worry here. It sounds to me like your girl is just looking for reassurance that she is still your "top girl", especially with the introduction of a new baby. Our girl, when she feels like it, will follow you around and cry & cry...she'll even swat at you...

    E-collar consideration after spaying operation?

Hi Bikeman, my little girl Cosmo got one of those lumps too nearly a week after her spay, the vet told me it was totally normal (since it wasn't red) and would go away. And it did, I seem to recall it took a couple days, but it did go away. And just so you don't feel bad....I've had cats my...

I have some good news and some BAD news

Allie, I'm so sorry your Lola has been diagnosed with FeLV. We lost our cat Boy to this horrid disease on May 19th of this year. He lived nearly 5 years after his diagnosis and died at 9 years old. If I can help you get through this, please do not hesitate to PM me. Also, just so you know, the...

How much bigger is he gonna get???

Hi Lindaom, I sure wish I did. If yours are like my 2, their fur is incredibly soft as silk. Momma cat was found, but pappa cat never was, and my 2 look nothing like momma cat. I'd LOVE to see a picture of yours though if you could share? (*hint hint*) LOL Lora

How much bigger is he gonna get???

Why thank you CarolPetunia! *Duke & Cosmo are blushing at the compliments* At the risk of bragging, they are now almost 9 months old and I took this picture of them a couple weeks ago. It's my favorite as I just LOVE the looks on their faces as they love each other. [/IMG] Lora

"I have a 7 year old persian cat that i have had since she was 8 weeks old and she is spayed.....She has been declawed so putting her outdoors , i feel would be inhumane as i dont think she could make it outdoors. I hate to give her away, because of not knowing for sure what kind of home she...

    Petmate Purrforma vs. Littermaid

Hi Dumac, Here's a link with quite a few reviews on all the various litterboxes out there. http://www.thecatsite.com/products/category/litter-boxes I myself use the Omega Paw and this thing is positively BRILLIANT! I love it and highly recommend it, but ONLY recommend the large size...the...

    Questions about cat health

Definitely a check-up with the vet is in order. Not saying anything is "wrong" with your cat, but many things will display symptoms in their eyes - from allergies, to tumors, to nothing at all. Only a vet can tell you if anything is truly wrong with your furbaby. Lots of luck & best wishes to...

    She Need's To Gain Weight

Hi, I agree with getting her checked by a vet to rule out any health issues that might be interfering with her appetite or her ability to absorb nutrients. I also read your comment that she is should not be as tiny compared to her brother and thought I could ease your fears in that regard. I...

    Help aggressive kitty getting worse!!

If you love your "baby" as much as you say you do, then you will do what's best for HER, and not what's best for YOU. If your vet really said Hartz products were really "ok" and don't bother spending the extra money, then that vet graduated at the very bottom of his/her class. Take a look at...
