i'm just giving options. i didn't say i prefered it. its just an alternitive that some vets offer. i suggest talking to your vet about all the options avalible
there are valid reasons for declawing cats. those who are diabetic, or have clotting disorders can become very sick or die from getting scratched by thier cat. its for the person's own health. as for health problems with the cat, i have worked in the veterinary field for almost 5 years now...
there is a prcedure called a tendonectomy. where teh tendon that retracts the claws are severed. the cats can't scatch, but the claws are still there. and you have to make sure you clip them. it is an alternative to declawing and some younger vets know how to do. talk to your vet first
just a note, proper restraint of cats includes holding them by thier scruff while supporting thier hindend. (it makes handleing the cat who want to kill you that much easier)
that being said, scale in reseption area, my work tried that for a week, it was a train wreck, moved it back to...
my best advise is to keep on any meds the vet gave you as directed, and if the vet suggested a diet change, keep on it, its cheaper then having to go back for urinary problems
the vets i work with recomend giving vaccs on the thigh so that if the cat develops vas they can remove the limb if nessary. with that being said, in the close to 6 years working in veterinary medicine, i have only seen this twice.
its rare and what would you rather have, a cat current on all...
omg thats my favorite play. i saw in it tronto 10ish years ago with my class. it was awesome. the movie was good, they changed some things and cut a few songs. but its good
actually Chihuahuas that come in to the practice most if not all are muzzeled when we work on them, i swear, they think they weigh 100 pounds. and mean as hell when they want to be
i heard about this. the vet hospital where i work had only 2 cases (two dogs from the same family) come in so far. both presented with acute liver failure, one died over night, the other is declining. poor dears. no cats yet though
we have had alot of sick cases this week, too
whats even more fun is when you pull up to your street to find the street has yet to be plowed. a good 5 inches of snow on the road, up a hill. good thing i have a little jeep
or people who try to go 70+ miles/hour on snow/ice covered roads. made my commute home from pittsburgh an extra...
the fat thing- i have seen plenty of thin people with multiple piercings
blood infection- not likely unless they use a dirty needle
