3 Year Old Orange Tabby Has Always Slept In The Bed With Me; Need To Slowly Change This

Thanks for all of the advice and kind words :) My soon-to-be-wife does not mind cats and finds my cat cute. She is just not used to having a pet sleep in the same bed as her. She is also slightly scared of animals. I am hoping she adjusts to everything and even the possibility of sharing the...

3 Year Old Orange Tabby Has Always Slept In The Bed With Me; Need To Slowly Change This

I am getting married soon and my soon-to-be-wife is not too fond of the cat sleeping in the same bed with us. Over the years, I have bought him cat beds that he uses for a night or two then stops and reverts back to my bed. What is the best way to get him to permanently adapt to sleeping...

    Moving To A New Location

I have a couple questions about moving. I have a 2.5 year old neautred male orange tabby who has been with me since he was 6 months. I've lived in an apartment so since I got him he has slept in the same bed as me. I am moving to a new home and I would prefer he sleep in a different room. My...

Do cats get tired of eating the same thing?

I'm not sure if this is an issue or not, but is it recommended to change your cats food? I buy the same brand every time, and sometimes I feel like he's tired of eating it. There are days where he barely touches his food, and then other days he eats just fine. He seems healthy to me and no other...

Cat is biting me on my neck

My cat does this. At first I thought he was trying to nibble at my necklace but he's nibbling at my neck instead. No idea why. I also blow in his face or push him back. I think he's just showing affection in the early morning. He's typically not very affectionate, but in the mornings he super...

How does your cat show her/his love for you?

I'm starting to feel like my cat doesn't love me =(! He doesn't do any of these things! He mayyyy slow blink, but I feel like that's just him being tired. He also sits outside the bathroom door when I'm in there, meows all morning to get into my room, and also sleeps on my bed next to me which...

So I've had my first ever cat for about 4 months now; couple questions about him

I've had my first cat who is also my first pet for about 4 months now. I'm loving him but I have a few questions about his behaviors over the 4 month period. He's an orange tabby male, neutered, about 7.5 months old. - Is he happy? Odd question but, how do I know if I'm doing what I should be...

Does my cat enjoy my nephew playing with him?

7 month old male tabby whose fixed. My 2.5 year old nephew loves playing with him when I take him to his house. He'll chase him, laugh, pick him up, and gently pet him (sometimes). Does my cat enjoy this? Most of the time, my cat will run away from him. Every time the cat comes into the living...

How does everyone here discipline their cat when he/she is being naughty?

The two main things that my cat does that really tick me off is jump on counters and meow at my door in the morning. Haven't really found a solution for either one. I have a 7 month old male tabby, fixed. It's my first pet ever, so all of this is new to me.

How does everyone here discipline their cat when he/she is being naughty?

My cat isn't knocking things down or chewing on cords, though he does occasionally jump on counters. I was just using those as examples. So pretty much, all you can do as a cat owner is take preventative measures to stop your cat from misbehaving...not actually teach them what is bad to do?

How does everyone here discipline their cat when he/she is being naughty?

Does this prevent them from doing the same thing at a later time though? What I'm trying to understand is - how do you discipline them so they learn not to do the same bad behavior over and over.

How does everyone here discipline their cat when he/she is being naughty?

If a cat does something it shouldn't and you give them a spank - are they not able to associate what they did to bad behavior because they just got hurt? NOT saying I do this or it is right! Just want to understand the logic why a cat would continue to do something that results in them getting a...

How does everyone here discipline their cat when he/she is being naughty?

Over little things that they shouldn't be doing; getting on counters, chewing wires, knocking stuff over, etc. What is the most effective way to discipline them so they won't do it again?

How can you actually prevent a cat from meowing in the morning at the bedroom door?

7 month old male tabby always meowing at my door in the morning before I get up. Has food and litter box. Is there any way to stop him from doing this? I get that he's excited to see me and all that but a man has to sleep before work. Any tried and proven tactics to prevent a cat from doing...

First time pet and cat owner owner; why is my cat meowing at the door every morning? He has food.

Thanks for the help all. I figured it was attention, just wanted to make sure it wasn't something too serious like an illness. It's understandable for such a young animal to want the attention so I get it. Maybe I'll start letting him in when he starts meowing and he can act as an alarm. I'd...

First time pet and cat owner owner; why is my cat meowing at the door every morning? He has food.

I recently got a 4 month old kitten who is awesome. However, I don't let him sleep in the same room as me because he wakes up super early and bugs the heck out of me. He seems to be fine sleeping in the living room where he has his litter box and food/water. Except around 1 hour before I get up...
