BIG UPDATE 😺
Hi all! We traveled 8.5ish hours total and went to the big referral specialty vet hospital today and found out some things about our girl! Luckily, the hospital we took her to has an amazingly talented staff, and the internal medicine vet brought her around to every speciality to...
Small update on Bunny
She’s been doing super well on her new diet, no bouts of the runs lately which has been so nice. We’re driving to the referral vet on Friday, so we’re hoping for some answers then! She’s grown so much and she’s been doing well so i’m anxious to see what’s been going on with...
Update on Bunny..
We just had an appointment with an referral clinic in our hometown, who is very confident bunny does not have manx, but wants us to see an internal medicine specialist at the University of Minnesota to figure out what exactly is causing her prolapsing. Waiting for a call from...
Manx Syndrome??
My cat Bunny was born without a tail and has had recurring rectal prolapses and dietary issues and I got a lot of good information from a fellow poster here about diet changes and whatnot to help with diarrhea and constipation as they get older! Definitely ask a vet about x-rays...
If you need any recommendations on supplements or dietary changes to help regulate your little kitties poops look back on some of the info Jabzilla posted for me at the beginning of this thread!! It helped Bunny a ton and she hasn’t struggled with diarrhea or constipations since we made some...
Bunny doesn’t have a tail, and that combined with being so crosseyed, she is the clumsiest cat i’ve ever seen 😂 she falls off of stuff, misses things when she’s jumping, definitely a clumsy girl. I actually asked my vet if she was concerned with her vision at all because of how crossed they are...
My new vet said she believes Bun has very little to no sensation in her colon or rectum, and that(? i wasn’t there for the entire conversation my husband was so i will have to ask him on specifics) is what’s causing the prolapse. I asked about spinal abnormalities and Bunny has no other...
We do have a large crate, and we also have a spare bedroom where we were quarantining Bunny when we first got her so we could slowly introduce her to our resident cat Sasha. Is there a specific reason she’d need to be sectioned off or just so she doesn’t tear sutures?
I’m linking my previous thread to give some background on my little tailless kitty Bunny, but we’ve reached a point in her prolapse journey where we’ve scheduled an appointment to see a specialist about getting coloplexy, just wanting to hear other people’s experiences/advice with the surgery...
Update (again) on Bunny Mae..
She has prolapsed again, and it does not go back in on its own; I have personally replaced it and had the vet replace it and it came back out almost immediately..
Our vet said our only real option is to get a referral for a specialist, and drive 4 hours from our...
My dads shop cat, never seen another cat quite like her!!! Maybe a siamese mix of some sort?? i know she’s a DSH but im more wondering for coloring!!! ◡̈ She’s polydactyl and has a thumb on each front paw!!! Super sweet cat, I posted my own two cats here and got great feedback so I figured id...
Her prolapses have never went back in on their own, the first prolapse she had was almost 4 days before we could get her in and it never went back in. I have tried to pop it back in on my own (per my vets suggestion) and haven’t had any luck.. It is usually the same size and color each time, and...
