Her undercoat is white all over. Her mom is grey with some white, but I don’t know who her dad is. The colony had 3 toms nearby that I know of, a grey tabby, orange tabby, and a tuxedo.
I am much more familiar with canine genetics, and I use Embark for health and trait testing (the breed ID is...
I understand genetics very well, I’m just not familiar with feline genetics. That being said, I do want to know and understand what her actual color is rather than guessing.
This is one of my feral colony kittens, turned barn kitten. She is now about 11 months old, and I really don’t think this is a fever coat. Both of her brothers are now straight black, but she’s far from it and gaining more color as she ages. I was guessing a smoke for awhile, but now I really...
Oh wow, thank you!
I am located in SW Florida. Like I said, I won’t be ready for a couple of years. I do want to be well prepared when the time comes though.
Hello all. I am interested in learning more about Norwegian Forest Cats, showing, and what to look for in a reputable cat breeder. I show Great Pyrenees in the AKC conformation world, but I know nothing of showing cats.
I am not looking to get a NFC for a couple of years. I have 2 super senior...
My 3 former feral colony kittens are now approximately 23 weeks old and growing like weeds. They are, however, complete failures at keeping the rats out of my horse barn 😂😂😂
All 3 are now getting their individual features. Nuts (boy) is shorter and stockier than his brother Bolts. Bolts is...
Hello all.
So my 3 little feral colony kittens were officially put through the TNVR program and are living in my barn full time. I’m still thinking the girl will be a black smoke, as she does have white through the under portion of her fur. She has also lightened up considerably while the boys...
@Falena it is light all over, and when she turns her head it’s easy to see poking through. I just wish I had more info on the parents. I know the mom is a grey, I just don’t know what kind of grey if you get what I mean. The dad could be anyone lol. This pic is her with her head turned. That is...
@Falena
I can get a good look at her undercoat, trying to take a clear picture is another thing lol. The circled area in this pic shows (somewhat) how light her undercoat is. Both of the boys, on the other hand, are black underneath. First pic is screws, second is bolts. He is the easiest to...
The 2 boys will definitely darken up more. Their fur is straight black at the roots. The girl is not. Hers looks like a really light silver at the roots, though it’s very difficult to get a good picture of it.
