There's three layers of dissolvable sutures on her, with an external non-dissolvable one. She had opened her stitches once before for which she had to have an emergency repair surgery 7 days ago.
She has been quite active in the past couple days as I've taken her for vet visits. So, maybe it is...
Guys I am so confused and having a panic attack right now. I don't know if I should just trust the vet I have here or go to another city... Going to another town would mean a complete panic for my cat too. It is Day 5 and she is still shivering a bit, purring on her own, and stretching its legs...
I did yesterday only. It is 4 AM here right now today. The vet keeps saying that she is recovering and the irritation from the hair growth and incision healing might be causing her to be like that... I don't know what to do anymore. I'm really worried about my cat's health. @sivyaleah
Okay thank you! I would like to add that my cat is shivering from time to time and stretching its legs and throwing them up in the carrier. This is a video from yesterday... Is this a sign of healing or something bad? Please let me know.
Hello @LTS3 Yes, they meant the Betadine anti-septic solution (your 2nd mention). So, is that safe to use on the infected spay incision? If it is then why is @fionasmom saying to not use one that has pain relieving ingredients in it? Getting into a dilemma!
She is refusing water and food at times, but when she sees her treats she does eat it. I would say she is eating, but just enough to get her system going. The same for water.
In addition, @fionasmom you said to not use any topical creams or liquid that contain pain relieving ingredients but Betadine, the one recommended by the vet officially says this: "Betadine cold sore paint pain relief formula contains: an antiseptic ingredient which helps check the infection...
Thank you for the reply @di and bob
Are there chances this infection can transform into something deadlier, like sepsis or something? I'm very-very stressed about this and my cat is seemingly too... :/
It wasn't a big area where the pus was coming from. It was at the top of the incision, however. The vet said that 80% of her incision was healed, only 10 and 10 left at the top and the bottom, and then the infection comes in.
Since, I do not know much I searched about it online after coming...
Thank you @fionasmom I have made a DIY Onesie to keep her from it. I am extremely confused about how to do the dressing and cleaning of the spay incision. The vet said to use a topical liquid (Povidone-Iodine -- Betadine) and use cotton wool pads to clean up. However, in the rush of it, I...
So my cat had her spay four days ago. And today, the cats incision area has become infected on account of licking (we tried our best) but the pus was only coming out of a very small area that was yet to be healed. I took her to the vet where the incision area was cleaned and then bandaged. In...

Hello Sarthur2, today will be Day 4 of her post-op recovery period. I have a couple of questions, and if you could take 10 minutes to answer them, I'll be forever indebted to you!
1. She wants to lick that area, however, I've got her in a onesie to keep her away from it. I wanted to know...
She is in a carrier, covered with a onesie-type cloth for cats, I let her out on the bed and then on the floor, once in a while. And, if she has to pee or poop the litter tray is right in front of her when she is let out. It seems like the only option for now as in a crate she starts moving...
