10 month old cat won’t eat vet is stumped

Thanks! I actually tried this and unfortunately didn’t make a difference, but he doesn’t have diarrhea at all anymore. It was only for a couple days. The main issue seems to be nausea/struggling to eat. He’s been ravenous the last couple days though!

10 month old cat won’t eat vet is stumped

He hasn’t had a thorough exam, but I asked them to do one during the ultrasound. At a glance on this last visit they said his teeth and mouth looked good no sores or inflammation they could tell.

10 month old cat won’t eat vet is stumped

I’ve used it for myself for ibs but not tried it on him yet. It seems like it’s for diarrhea mostly but now he has normal stools, so not sure if I should add. He seems to have an issue with brewers yeast and I’m allergic to most yeasts but if he gets diarrhea again I might give it a go

10 month old cat won’t eat vet is stumped

They also gave a probiotic but I’m hesitant to try it because they seem to make him worse on them as well. Fortiflora makes him sicker (and he hates it) not sure what the prescribed one is but I pick it up later today

10 month old cat won’t eat vet is stumped

They gave me Cerenia to have on hand for nausea, but it actually seems to make him more nauseous. It’s never worked for any of my cats. I’ve tried the stimulant before as well with no results. Today he is eating great on his own. It seems to be an every other day issue with the non eating.

10 month old cat won’t eat vet is stumped

Thanks! I would post his blood work results, but they haven’t been added to the vet portal yet. I’m just concerned that if it’s IBD the ultrasound won’t show any changes yet, as he’s so young. About 10 months old. It’s $500 and I don’t think I’ll be able to afford another one for a few months so...

10 month old cat won’t eat vet is stumped

Hi there! In the beginning of January I trapped a feral kitten that lived in the barn across the street from my house. I had been feeding him fancy feast canned food at night for many months. He was so terrified I never thought I would be able to get him in the house because he would run from my...

Cat with lungworm started wheezing after treatment

I’m kind of dreading another round of panacur because he really took a lot of persuading to eat. I will not force him to because he’s feral and we are working on trust. He has already had a bout of stress related cystitis so the vet is hesitant to have him come back unless the issue with the...

Cat with lungworm started wheezing after treatment

So I took in a feral rescue last month with an injury and he also needed a tail amputation. That healed but he also had 4 parasites, including lungworm. He didn’t have any symptoms of lungworm at all. He had a topical treatment, and then 10 days of panacur. His last dose was 3 days ago. Last...

Feral rescued doing great but pees on couch and bed

Well, the litter box in the open near the couches worked! I haven’t tested thit bed just yet. One hurdle at a time lol

Feral rescued doing great but pees on couch and bed

I’ve gotten another cat tree scratcher for beside the couches, and put more litter boxes around to see what his preference is. I’m going to try some of your suggestions as well. If he stays a couch peer forever I’ll just put a shower curtain on it with a couple of clean towels when we aren’t...

Feral rescued doing great but pees on couch and bed

It’s also just my partner and I. It’s a big quiet farmhouse, no kids or other pets. We are quiet and work from home.

Feral rescued doing great but pees on couch and bed

He’s much more into laying on the ground to relax than up high. He doesn’t like being up on the windowsills, even with a cozy towel over a heating pad. He seems most comfortable in dark little hiding spots. He likes tunnels and behind the couch where he takes his toys to play. He’s got a lot of...

Feral rescued doing great but pees on couch and bed

Farley is around 8 months old. He doesn’t have any nerve damage from the amputation or injury which is good! He was likely attacked by a fox (we live in the country) and there were 3 in the yard the day he was trapped, so yeah, he’s been hunted quite a bit. He’s definitely comfortable with...

Feral rescued doing great but pees on couch and bed

There is not a litter box right next to the couch downstairs, my partner won’t allow that. But there is one through a cat door into a large area with one only a few feet away. I have cat attract in that one as well as a bit of his dirty litter from upstairs. He went in a few times right before...

Feral rescued doing great but pees on couch and bed

Hi there! So, for the last 4 months I had been leaving food out for a young feral cat. He was very skittish and I never thought he’d become an inside cat, as I’d lost my oldest kitty a year and a half ago and wasn’t sure if I was ready yet. One day almost a month ago he showed up with a dangling...
