Feral cats in danger from fox

Hi! Thanks for your reply. Dogs over 20 pounds are banned in our community and have not been seen by anyone, and the bites were far too large for another cat to have made them. They were made by an animal that could wrap its jaws around a small cat's neck, and rip off all of the fur and much of...

Concerned about cat's fever and vet's lack of concern

I totally understand, and was once in a similar situation (though my second cat was a kitten, and two years younger than my adult cat... and they were both females, which in my personal experience turned out not to be a good combo). I'm really sorry that you are going through this, and how hard...

URGENT!!! EMACIATED STRAY...HOW DO I FEED HER???

Sorry, I am not familiar with Inaba Churu, so I can't responsibly comment on that. And I have never tried tuna water (assuming that is the water from inside a can of tuna packaged for humans? Or is it a special product?) My only tips about tuna-flavored canned cat food and seafood-flavors of...

URGENT!!! EMACIATED STRAY...HOW DO I FEED HER???

I would not think so: dilution is only needed to reduce salt content to cat-safe levels... so if the broth is salt-free, there would be no health reason to dilute it. Though if you think a cat is dehydrated, and not drinking enough, adding a bit of extra water to the broth could be helpful.

Feral cats in danger from fox

Thank you! The Ultrasonic Fox repellent looks promising, and I bet I can find it online. The foxes roam all over the neighborhood at night, as do the feral cats...so I won't be able to post a sound device in multiple locations. But at least I could put one where the feral cats eat, and maybe...

Concerned about cat's fever and vet's lack of concern

Just a quick note that I have experience with the cat pheromone diffusers, and in my case they really did help our two brother cats get along better. From online store Chewy, a friend gifted us with a wall plug-in diffuser, formulated to simulate the pheromones of a mother cat, and it was...

Is Pet Health Insurance worth it?

Hi! One of our cats became very sick last May, and nearly died, from a "mystery illness" that lasted 2 months. We love our vet, but even after Galileo looked (and behaved) fully healed, "Dr. S" wanted to do continual tests. At the $1100 mark I called a halt (and had previously declined some of...

URGENT!!! EMACIATED STRAY...HOW DO I FEED HER???

Hi! I'm new here, but just wanted to say, it sounds like you're doing an AMAZING job of caring for this poor little stray, and she is very lucky to have found you. I know all about the sleep deprivation from caring for a sick feline, and have helped many strays. It is a pure labor of love...

Feral cats in danger from fox

My neighbor and I take care of a feral cat colony in our neighborhood. We have managed to do the catch-and-release program with most of them, through our county (vaccinating, spay/neuter, ear clip). She feeds them on her back patio... which I think has started attracting the local fox(es). We...
