    cat food cunnumdrum

When I got Chloe, she was used to dry cat food from the shelter. One day I opened a tin of chilli with a ring pull and she shot into the kitchen. I thought to myself maybe she used to have wet cat food. I've tried her out with purina beef pate. She loved that for about a week. Fancy feast pate...

    American short hair shedding season

I wish Chlow liked treat but I haven't found anything she likes yet. She tolerates me brushing her with the silicone thingy. I'll be careful with the furminator as far as the teeth. Whether she'll stand still is another matter. I did order a pair of leather gloves to put on when doing it...

Speaking of hair. Her hair tends to be about 1- 1.5" in length. Is that consdiered a shorthair? I don't want to buy the wrong brush

I think I might try the furminator brush. Chloe unfortunately is declawed so the scratching wont be an issue but I'll have to watch out for the fangs.

    American short hair shedding season

Year round  Wow. It only seems to have beeen the past month or so that it's got bad. I hope the new vacuum I bought is up to the task.

    Farting

Give a bit of time and see how it goes. It seems the pumpkin and new food have improved things. Maybe the previous food caused the issues. A friend of mine fosters sick cats for the local shelter. She had a pair of kittens which I was going to adopt but they had the runs and she had to give...

    American short hair shedding season

Do shorthairs shed twice a year and if so, how long does it usually last? I can't keep up with the tumbleweeds of floof at the moment. I try to brush Chloe when I give her her breakfast as she's usually too busy nom nomming to get annoyed. I have one of those silicone finger type brushes and it...

    Farting

I'm glad to hear she's improving. Have you tried her on a different formulation of food? Perhaps she's intolerant of one of the ingredients? I heard Chloe fart once so far but it was sans odour.

    Chloe seems bored

I spoke too soon. She still pesters me to play but puts about 1/4 of the effort into it she used to. Still trying to figure her out.

    Chloe seems bored

I haven't yet found a treat she's interested in. I really wish I could. I could give her a treat when she makes an impresive save catching the spinning toy.

    Chloe seems bored

I found a solution that works for the moment. In fact it works almost too good. I bought a couple of dangley toys that come with mini collapsible fishing rods. She had no interest in any of the danglers that came with it. I managed to attach a crinkle ball and a couple of cat springs on one and...

    Chloe seems bored

Thank you. She has a scratching tree but isn't interested in it. I think it's more of a "my front toe bones are missing but I can feel them" thing. As for toys, I think I've had almost the lot. Apart from what I already mentioned, I've tried practice golf balls. pgb on a string, etc etc.

    Chloe seems bored

I must be thick today. Can't see where to edit the original post so here's Chloe doing her bonkers thing. It's not the full on bonkers bit as she got camera shy.

    Chloe seems bored

Chloe seems bored.I can't seem to find anything for her that she consistently has interest in. I've tried various catnip filled toys and there's only one that she occasionally plays with. Crinkle balls, nope. Feather wands, nope. She does like a fabric wand occasionally but the handle is...

New owner of a rescue cat

Thanks to all for the replies. I'm embarrassed to admit that I didn't actually know what is actually involved when declawing a cat. Now that I know, I'm very active supporting petitions to stop it.

Thanks for the welcome. Chole is starting to get into her wound up jumping up and down thing so I'll be breaking out the laser shortly

New owner of a rescue cat

I've tried little clicky mice toys, hung a practice golf ball from a doorway, got some wands with fabric or feather/toy/bell, tried a box full of biodegradable packing peanuts. She likes to "scratch" at one of my tables so I bought her a scratching post. She's not really interested in any of...
