Bits of litter stuck to fur

Hi, my 5y/o neutered male occasionally has some bits of clumping litter stuck to his fur around his genital area.. Whenever I see it I help pluck them off (I usually notice after it's hardened/dried up so it's easy to pull apart from his fur) but I was wondering whether it could be a huge issue...

    Pet food/exercise tracking app?

I have an iPhone and I use a diary app called DayOne (might've been paid but only $1-2). It lets me quickly insert the timestamp along with text, so I use it multiple times a day (when my cat poops, pees, is fed, weight, general condition). It's not great for auto tracking but it's good for...

    Cat upper eyelid is inflamed

It went down a lot the day after my post, and was nearly completely gone the following day. Now it's like that swelling never happened. Since his eyes are back to normal now, I'm gonna hang on to the picture and just ask about it to the vet at our next appointment! Thanks guys!

    Cat upper eyelid is inflamed

It looks to be more itchy now. He doesn't scratch at it but does spend more time grooming that side of the face. The inflammation has gone down a bit now and is less pink (possibly because he's been sleeping for two hours and not touching it). I've had styes before and they were always...

    Cat upper eyelid is inflamed

Hi everyone, just wondering whether anyone has dealt with this with their cat. My cat was fine this morning and has suddenly developed what looks like a pimple? on his right eyelid. His fur seems to have fallen off in that area as well. I'm almost positive this wasn't there only a few hours ago...

Does anyone train their cat to do tricks?

My cat does Sit and Paw, only when he sees me holding a treat. It's kind of reverse training now because whenever he wants a treat he comes up to me and sits.. and I have to fetch a treat for him haha

Struggling trying to up cat liquid intake

Another tip I've come across on the internet is to squeeze out a "mountain" of a lickable treat (eg Churu or Delectables) on to one side of the plate, and then filling the plate with water. As long as you don't mix the water and the treat, the treat'll still be appetizing for the kitty - as in...

Struggling trying to up cat liquid intake

I've been mixing water with the wet food for years now. At first it was because my cat would only lick off the liquids from his wet food and leave the flakes behind. Then, I figured out he only like pates. Most pates are still pretty thick so I add some extra water (~15mL per 1/3 of an 85g can)...

Vomiting a few hours after eating

Since it's been a week, I figured I'll share an update. He (thankfully!) hasn't vomited since my first post and overall seems to be in good spirits. I immediately stopped giving him any new canned food and put him back on the FF Ocean Whitefish & Purina Beyond GF Salmon cans that he had no...

    Weight gain

I believe weight changes may be a symptom of thyroid issues but I'm not sure if they're very common in younger kitties. Maybe keep an eye on her for other potential symptoms like changes in thirst, frequency of urination, etc. if you can't afford to take her to the vet for a checkup! My vet...

14-year-old cat throwing up every night after dinner, BUT bloodwork, urinalysis, and X-rays all came back 100% normal

I'm sorry your kitty is still having issues with vomiting :( Did you try switching up his food and feeding times? I feel like losing half a pound over two months isn't that concerning and I'd attribute it to the fact that he's not getting enough calories (bc he throws up). I could be completely...

Vomiting a few hours after eating

Cats are fussy like that :eviltongue: I do have a camera!! Bought it years ago when I first got him. I'm able to keep an eye on my cat pretty much 24/7 right now because I'm working from home but I'm pretty sure I have separation anxiety now LOL I'll make a note of your suggestions and grab a...

Vomiting a few hours after eating

Thanks for your input! I don't think it's my litter since there hasn't been any change to it, and my kitty only vomited twice, over 2 days. We are using scented litter though, because I can't find the unscented version of the one we use (Arm & Hammer Multi-cat Clump and Scoop???) That's awesome...

Vomiting a few hours after eating

Haha, a "smells fishy" clause. The policy says that any illness that reasonably showed its symptom within the waiting period (and 18 months prior to enrollment) is not covered, so if I go to the vet in 2 weeks I'll have to say that he JUST started vomiting the day before. Honestly, that shady...

Vomiting a few hours after eating

Thank you so much for your advice!!! You have no idea how much I appreciate it. I actually recognize your username from when I looked at your posts, trying to decide whether insurance was worth it . Anyway, after he puked this morning, I took away his regular kibble just in case but...

Vomiting a few hours after eating

Thanks for your reply! I was aware of that rule for when changing kibble but I didn't even think to do that for wet food! I gave him a different new canned food last week and he was perfectly fine on that. He's still allowed to graze anytime on his kibble (that he's been eating his whole life)...

Vomiting a few hours after eating

Hi, this is my first time posting on this site! I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts on my kitty's vomiting episodes. 2 days ago, my 4y/o male neutered cat vomited what looked like thick brown liquid (smells like his wet food, digested) with a tinge of yellow (stomach acid), a few kibble pieces...
