I'm feeding wet and occassionally dry. He seems to throw up wet food more often than the dry and fish is something he is also sensitive to, so I feed him chicken-only food. His stomach usually settles when he gets at least some food in, then hour later he is able to eat normal portion. However...
Yeah, this method works for my cat as well, minus the bloody stool. Problem is, I am at work the whole day and cant always give him bigger meals within an hour. And then he still has the bloody stool which my vet thinks is connected to the vomitting...
It is definitely vomiting. He vomits about 10 minutes after he has eaten too much and his tummy definitely contracts.
He is only 2 years old, not sure where would the ulcers come from?
Hmm it could be. Honestly I have seen him just force the food down at times, even though he was full, you could tell he was "struggling" to keep on eating, but he did anyways because it just tasted too good, I guess?
Other times he is super hungry since he has not eaten all night, and then he...
He probably has IBD but we have not tested him for it since it is invasive and expensive. My vet also said that his stomach is probably making too much acid, which is why we give him pepcid.
It will often happen that he will nap for hours and then eat, and immediatelly vomit, too. Like you...
Hi! So I have been having trouble with my 2 year old long haired male kitty. He has been vomitting food for almost a year now and we still have no idea why that happens. He will vomit guaranteed if he has not eaten anything for longer than 3-4 hours and then eats "more than his stomach can...
Yeah, not sure if this is ear mites or just dirty ears... maybe it has to do with how oily the cat gets? Sometimes she has issues cleaning herself too.
We do wash the bowls frequently and as I said, we only use steel and porcelain. She still gets cat acne.
I actually discontinued the use of this ear flush since the dirty ears come back after a while. It does help for about a week and then it returns back to normal...
I clean her ears with a cat specific ear cleanser (Curaseb) that is also supposed to fight mites: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N4NZNSN/?tag=thecatsite
We also only use porcelain and stainless steel dishes for our cats and we wash them frequently. She still gets the cat acne around her mouth...
Our cat has been having issues with dirty ears. No matter what I do (clean them out daily and use anti-fungal spray), the ears always get dirty within a day or two. They get dirty so quickly. I hae never seen that happen with any of my other cats. My other cat's ears are clean with some oily and...
Yes, going to a meat market makes this much more expensive. And then my time spent on it is another thing. I was already putting 3 hours into making the raw food, without cooking it and taking any other additional steps. Just to find out that to make the product completely healthy and...
Yeah I was thinking cooking the meat would be another option. Perhaps I could boil the chicken and then grind it all up including the bones? I would have to look up a new recipe for that.
I liked the idea of feeding raw food because I thought it was more natural for the cat. And also cheaper...
I don't know what tests they used, I am not a vet. All I can say is they tested him three times since he was a kitten and all came negative. He definitely didn't get the giardia from the shelter because he was tested multiple times a year after we adopted him and his tests always came negative.
I understand. I think I might make my cat raw food occasionally, but this is becoming such a hassle and it is very time consuming to even prepare it to begin with. So I think I will just switch him to canned food and see how he does on that. I really wanted to give this a try and feed him well...
Yeah, I do not freeze the meat before making the raw food recipe for my cat. Plus if I freeze it and thaw it out too much my cat does not like it anymore because it will lose the freshness to it. It's just a mystery to me that an indoor cat caught giardia. My vet was 100% sure it is from the raw...
My cat hasn't been to the vet for a year before going to this one. So I doubt he got the giardia from the vet... the reason why I noticed he wasn't feeling well was because I found blood in his stool a couple of times. And all that happened very recently too...
