Excellent, thank you so much! Coraline does well when we site swap. She does a lap around the room and smells then just lays down and waits to go back out.
We try to give them equal time when we are home. Coraline is out during the day except during lunch. My bf comes home for lunch and lets...
That’s really excellent advice! We tried a blanket but they couldn’t even sense each other so I guess that’s why you said a sheet
We’ve been meeting back at the door and we’ll try the sheet this evening and see how it goes.
I don’t know how I didn’t put it together sooner, but Bandit got a lot closer last night so that could be a factor?
The boys were comfortable in the house and Coraline was no longer hissing at the door but instead seemed more curious and playful. Since the sightings through the screen she has...
They are still separated and we let them out in shifts. We just recently put the screen/gate up and let them see each other and it went okay the first couple of times and then it went down hill.
Coraline seems to be getting MORE territorial and/or aggressive toward the boys. They are so scared of her. Is this normal for her to regress like this?
Coraline’s favorite spot is here in this chair.
But, when I first got her she hid inside the couch for most of the week.
And as promised, here are the boys this evening :)
They are all three so different. Coraline loves to be around people but doesn’t want to cuddle or sit on you. Pets only. Bandit is very timid and will only sit on his dad. And Dexter is super outgoing and affectionate and is the only one who will give me the kitty cuddles I need. ❤
Well.... we had a bit of a SNAFU 🙀 on Monday. My bf wasn't expecting Dexter to be out from under the bed and he made a break for the other bed and was under there for a while with Bandit, while Coraline was put away in the bathroom. But it did give us a chance to do a room/scent swap for the...
Okay. Dexter has been out from any hiding spots since Monday. He has been wandering around the house, smelling and exploring with Bandit. Coraline has not been hissing or growling when they come near the door. She meows and seems curious now.
Is it time for them to meet or do you guys think it...
Dexter update: He came out and walked around a little bit, then strolled into the closet and has been there ever since sitting pretty on a pillow. He's had a big day!
Update, the day with no hissing was a fluke. Coraline was in the hallway yesterday and Bandit made a break for it and she saw him for a second and gave a little hiss. And I read not to reprimand her behavior when she does that. Is that right?
That's a great idea! We did put his cat bed in there with his blankets but he won't even go out to it. I'll take the blankets out and put them under the bed with him. I think he wants to come out, he's pretty social. He will come about halfway out and lay there for some chin rubs and some pets...
We did get some of his favorite things but still no. And an update on his bathroom habits, i filled one of those rubbermaid tote lids with litter, put it under the bed, and he used it immediately. He wants to maintain his habits, just isn’t comfortable yet.
Yes, she has been just going about her normal routine. I do put her away in the other bedroom when the friendly male wants to explore upstairs a bit.
Also, their names are Coraline (Coral), Dexter (cat hiding under the bed), and Bandit! Coral is the calico, Dexter is the larger brother (and...
So, here is the layout of the house. Downstairs there is a living room, kitchen and dining room area, and a small half bath. There is a basement where my girl's litter box is but it does get a little chilly down there so I would prefer not to keep her down there. Upstairs there are just two...
