Thank you I appreciate your reply. The vet did confirm its ringworm with the wood lamp test and a culture test. Hes been on griseofulvin for now 9 days and hes as bad as ever. We have been cleaning like crazy and using bannix spray (which is supposed to be gentle and kill ringworm). The...
The vet confirmed its ringworm. Hes now been on an antifungal pill for 9 days with no change. Yes my husband did get it on his arm and I have a few spots too.
Yes when I was 13 (I'm now 32), I used one with a girlfriend at a sleepover. We had one lamp on in the corner of the room and were trying to channel a member of a boy band who had just died. Near the end, the lamp bulb started to flicker!!!! We screamed and ran downstairs to the kitchen where...
Blankets and towels aren't the best for keeping cats warm, they can actually leech heat from their bodies, especially outside or in a garage. Straw is the best (not hay) but I don't know how good that would be with newborn kittens. Try a heating pad on low if you can. Good luck! Thanks for...
Hi all,
My 9 year old siamese cat is awaiting a ringworm test result from our vet. Hes been losing fur and scratching and licking himself bad for months. (Vet thought it was an allergy so never tested for ringworm, even though I previously asked them to).
Anyway, we have a blacklight at home...
Update: Triton has a bacterial/yeast infection in both ears.
The vet gave me some sterile ear cleaning solution and Baytril Otic antibacterial/antifungal drops for his ears. Today is day 6 and his ears look the same (red from scratching, TONS of brown earwax). Doesn't seem to have helped at...
Thank you! I really hope its not ear mites. (I've NEVER had a cat with ear mites, but I read that the "dirt" can look like coffee grounds, cuz its mixed with blood, and that ear mite infections give off a bad smell) His inner ear smells fine, and when i wiped it out there was no redness on...
My 9 year old cat all of a sudden has red ears and excessive earwax. His ears are red inside, and some patches of fur are missing on the outside! And he has excessive earwax. His ears have always been spotless inside, and now he has dark brown wax all over inside both ears. (I wiped them...
I love to feed the birds and woodpeckers so it makes me sad to see them get killed :( I might have to get rid of the feeder altogether. My husband said he can get a high shepherds hook, but the birds will still probably congregate around the bottom. We dont have any bushes and we just have...
Omg that is crazy! lol. Yes, if I leave out suet or the feeder, they will steal whole cakes and empty the feeder of all seed in one night. They are ridiculous. I cant believe they mess with your clothes!
Thanks I definitely need to move the feeder. The other thing is, I always put the feeder inside at night because raccoons will completely empty it every night if I don't! They'll steal the suet cakes too if I leave the hanger out :(
Our next door neighbor has an indoor/outdoor cat, and we have a bird feeder out front. Lately, I've seen her catch and kill birds and then proceed to eat them!
I've caught her in the act of chowing down on 2 in the past month, I always try and stop her. I've told the neighbor and she says...
Thanks for the information and the reply. Hes definitely over-grooming but also scratching the hell out of his back and neck, so I think hes licking because hes itchy. The amitriptyline made him SO drowsy hes like a zombie, I hate it. I feel so bad for him, the steroid is the only thing that...
We gave him the amitriptyline for 4 days and he was a ZOMBIE he was so sedated. I don't want to keep giving him this, as he cant do things he normally does and isnt enjoying life due to being over sedated. Its not helping his itching either even though its supposed to be a "powerful...
I still dont know, we've been to the vet 4 times in the past 3 months for this and nothing has helped his stop itching. He scratching like mad and licking all his fur off (which I'm guessing is because hes itchy). He never had any issues until this year either. So frustrating, good luck!
Our 9 year boy kitty has been itching and licking ALL the fur off his legs and belly. This started in March and now its June. Hes been checked for fleas (none found but given Revolution anyway), ruled out for food allergy by vets, nothing has changed in our house like cleaning supplies or...
