Kitty update! I put the pill in her food last night and she ate it, and didn't yowl at all last night, so yay! She's back to her old kitty self, jumping and playing etc., so I think that crisis is past. Just wanted to let y'all know, thanks again for all the suggestions!

Thanks! Fortunately it's a once a day pill and she already got pilled at the vet. Tomorrow is when I get to do it! The vet used a little 'pill gun' I wonder if those things work...

Charlotte says, thanks for the sympathy! :-) . The vet tech gave her her first pill while I was there, so we'll see how it goes tonight!

OK, back from the vet! The vet thinks Charlotte pulled something in her back, which is affecting her jumping, and the pain is making her distracted and yowly. She gave me some pain meds which she says will help, and hopefully in a few days that problem should go away. The vet did blood work...

Thanks very much for all the suggestions! I'm starting to suspect it may be something medical. I noticed that when I tried to play with her last night, she showed no interest in the feather on a stick or laser pointer (her usual faves) and just kept wandering around making that 'chirp chirp'...

I thought of that - I'm wondering if she's hearing something that I can't and that's agitating her. I have a fan and I've turned it on but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

I also tried the calming music, but it just seemed to make her more agitated. Great suggestions, though, keep 'em comon I tried that, but unfortunately it seemed to agitate her more than anything else. She kept walking around as if she was trying to figure out where it was coming from.

Not too bad, thanks. :-) Just frustrated that I can't figure out what's going on! As I said, Charlotte's always been a bit on the nervous side, so maybe she's just anxious? I could try the diffuser sprays and whatnot, although I'm not sure how well they're going to work in my 1200 sq. ft...

I did try the low lights, didn't do a thing, sadly. She was acting strange this morning too, wandering around and meowing and stuff which she usually doesn't do; but then one of the toys has catnip in it and she might have just been stoned!
