Excessive thirst can also be a sign for IBD, which my Winston has. He ate very well; however continued to lose weight, became lethargic and had excessive thirst. He is now on Predilisone as well as chlorambucil and is responding to that!
My Winston had dirty ears and it turned out to be a yeast infection via my regular vet. They gave me drops I had to put in to ear 2x daily and within a few days it cleared up. Not mites as I had suspected!
