Recently Adopted Stray Cat From Kill List

Thanks for checking in ❤️. I've just been pushing thru. I'm naturally questioning my decision. Even a year later, I still question my choice to put down my Boris after his second kidney failure. So im sure ill always feel guilty. It snowed that night after burying him, which has always been a...

Thank you everyone, for everything. He was sedated, and I was able to pet and kiss him for the first and last time. We spent time with him before we called the doctor back in. The doctor noted he was covered in battle scars as he shaved his leg. A true NYC king. I had no idea how large he...

Recently Adopted Stray Cat From Kill List

His appointment is this morning. Last night and this morning he ate steak and salmon, AND all his cat food. His appetite is still voracious, and maybe I'm just looking for reasons to rationalize to myself he's okay. We spoke with the doctor about sedation first, so we could just pet him for a...

Everyone, After putting it off, I've made a final appointment for Vlad on Saturday. The last few days he has been lunging in addition to hissing at me as I try to feed him. I haven't been able to spend time with him lately ashe seems increasingly disturbed by my presence. I feel this is...

No, he can't. He just dribbles, probably because his bladder is so full :( I'm really trying to avoid putting him down as I know just taking him in will be stressful and scary. I don't want his last moments to be surrounded by people he doesn't trust.

The amputation won't help with his incontinence. That's a done deal, likely as a result of the nerve damage from the tail injury which goes all the way up. The amputations only purpose is for hygeine, which is doubly important with an incontinent bladder.

Recently Adopted Stray Cat From Kill List

Thanks everyone, I'm giving him as much food as he wants, as many treats as he'd like. He is still angry with me for having to chase him down to take him to the last vet visit. He is back to growling st me whenever I enter the room. Serves me right, I suppose. Maybe this is crazy, but would it...

Recently Adopted Stray Cat From Kill List

Hey everyone, I have an unfortunate update. He went in for another exam today, he doesn't appear to have much anal tone, and the Dr. Believe he isn't able to express his own bladder. Because of this, a barn cat program isn't an option. Due to him being aggresive, and his dislike of being...

Recently Adopted Stray Cat From Kill List

Hey everyone. After contacting a barn cat shelter program, I was told to hold off on the surgery to see if they could get a shelter discount. I've since been transferred to three separate organizations. The consensus of which seems to be Vlad is more than I can handle. So far, I haven't been...

I really appreciate all your support, guys. I've been contacted by two rescue programs. I won't give him up if he isn't going to have a good place to go. He's still hiding in his box. I'm setting up an appointment for an exam this week.

Again, I just can't afford to keep doing all these things. He needs to be where where someone can properly care for him. They won't just arbitrarily give antibiotics, they will require testing. I'm still working my butt off to get him his amputation and neuter. Trust me, I was up all night...

Recently Adopted Stray Cat From Kill List

I can't inject him. I am covered in bites and Socrates just from giving him treats, or reaching into his crate to clean his litter box. I can't afford to keep taking him to the vet, either. I'm still scrimping and saving just to get him an appointment for his amputation. I really wish this had...

Recently Adopted Stray Cat From Kill List

There was urine in the cat box but he was spending all his time laying in the litter box at the time. When I gave him a cat tent, he started laying in there and that's when I noticed there wasn't much if any pee in the litter box. When I replaced the tent with a cardboard box it was soaked in...

Recently Adopted Stray Cat From Kill List

:(We suspected it had been happening from day one, and now I know for sure. This is a hug problem, we really can't have a cat in our home peeing uncontrollably, with no way to get it under control. Our house has other animals, and the room he is in now is only empty temporarily. Being...

Recently Adopted Stray Cat From Kill List

Hey guys, so I checked on Vlad when I got home. He is still in his box and I noticed the bottom of the box is soaked in urine. He appears to just be peeing wherever he is, making me feel pretty confident he is likely incontinent. This poses a huge challenge, as we can't have a cat peeing all...
