Coaxing A Sick Cat Out From Under The Bed??

It is a liquid but it has to absorb into the skin instead of being ingested, so if she swallows it then it has no effect. And that leads me to my next question: does anyone know whether squirting buprenorphine against her gums/in that general area of her mouth is as effective as squirting it...

Coaxing A Sick Cat Out From Under The Bed??

Okay, yeah, that makes a lot of sense. I just called the vet and they said to try heating up some tuna for her but all that did was make her go further back under the bed. I'm gonna let her relax for a few minutes and then start pulling everything apart. Thank you for the suggestion!

Coaxing A Sick Cat Out From Under The Bed??

My bed is mounted on two box springs pushed together up against the wall, and she's in the back corner of the room, so it would be a little difficult but I could manage pulling everything apart. Coaxing A Sick Cat Out From Under The Bed??

My semi feral, Marbles, has ulcers in her mouth and requires buprenorphine every twelve hours. The issue, though, is that she HATES being held/forced into place so after I give her the medicine she usually bolts under my bed and hides for as long as she can. I have to administer her next dose in...

Administering Buprenorphine For The First Time

Okay, thank you for the advice!! I left her alone after she crawled under a pile of my pillows, and now she's sleeping. I've been mixing her soft food with water and running it through a blender but I never thought to heat it up a little bit. I'll see if that helps until I can give her her...

Administering Buprenorphine For The First Time

I've recently taken in a semi feral cat who had six cavities extracted and came home with a five day supply of .2ml doses of buprenorphine for ulcers all along the roof of her mouth and gums. She's already a very skittish, shy cat so having to also pry her mouth open and squirt liquid against...

One Question About My New Semi Feral Cat

My family has always fed the ferals and strays in our neighborhood so we're always trying to transition the willing cats into house pets. Recently, I brought in a sweet little girl named Marbles and within the few days she's been here she has adjusted so, so well. If anything, I'm a little...
