Thank you for this link. I have been reading up on this 'by products' topic and I appreciate this link. Unbelievable...using dead animals from disease, road kill, and the remains of euthanized pets? That is OUTRAGEOUS! Sick people out there! This is just criminal!!!
Well, I tip my hat to you, well, would tip it if I wore one, which I rarely do...LOL I think that woman you gave Bunny too had no clue as to what she was getting into, went into panic mode and just reacted. At least Bunny didn't get set free to fend for herself and get into a lot of dangerous...
Really makes you think when you see things like that, doesn't it? I went to my pet store today and looked at many brands of wet cat food. I had a list with me of the ingredients that should not be in any cat food. The worst one seemed to be 'meat by-products' and 'bone/corn meal' They are...
That is certainly true and have had only 1 cat, my last one, Livvy, that was a picky eater. Never did eat a lot for almost a decade, but I have my current cat now and think he will eat about anything. So far, I have fed him a few different kinds of wet food along with what he had been given...
Thanks for your input. I have used Natural Balance in the past, but switched after my cat got sick and then wouldn't eat it anymore after she got better. Been doing a lot of research and have a good handle on what I am looking for when reading can labels.
I saw that site and it was a shocker...some of the best brands were on that recall list...Wellness, Natural Balance. How criminal that this stuff even can happen!
I appreciate ALL the input and responses to this thread. After starting this thread, I started to research about what a good cat food should have and what it shouldn't. I was shocked at what some of these supposedly 'Excellent' cat foods have in them...things like Carrageenan, bone meal, guar...
Thank you for the kind words and the story! All cat lovers would get along great together for we have very strong feelings and interests in our feline furballs! We should start our own country! LOL
Feral cats are a huge challenge, that is a certainty, and anyone that tries to socialize...
I realize this is going to probably cause some debate, but want to get the best wet food brand you can get for an adult cat. I have read several articles on this and have so many different answers, which I guess is to be expected in a controversial subject as this. I know I want the cat food...
Thanks for your reply. I have had Simba for 2 weeks and there are no other cats in my home. My last baby had to be set free from cancer about 3 weeks ago. I guess me and Simba both have a lot of adjusting to do. Thanks again.
I feel your pain and to lose a cat at such young ages is just so sad! I read about cats living to 20 years or more, but I never had that gift of long life. I had two cats for 17 years and my latest was only 14 years. All died from cancer of some kind! You never get over this totally, and...
I recently adopted a 2 yr. old male cat from a rescue group. His elderly lady owner passed away and the deceased lady's relative took over caring for him. The problem is the lady had dogs and the cat did not get along with them, so this lady took the cat back to his original home and fed and...
Older cats get very frustrated with kittens because they are so active and little pests. Most likely, your adult cats just want to be left alone, so be sure to have a place where they can get away from little kitty to rest and be alone. Also, when introducing a new cat to ones already there...
That is true...all cats are different and have personalities. I know you can train cats to be a certain way to some extent, and hope my new Simba will relax and become that cuddle buddie I miss so much! Thanks!
My first cat, Eowyn, was a red tabby (orange), my pumpkin cat. She loved to be brushed with a vacuum cleaner...just LOVED it and being tapped on the side with a rolled up a newspaper...what a cuckoo cat she was...loved to eat peanuts and applesauce, had her for 17 years. But Specks, was my...
