Looking for answers, why my girl got sick

Thanks all. When at the vet, they did an x-ray, presumably didn't see anything. I wasn't there, I don't have the details on what tests they did. Originally they said it was her kidneys, but then they said that test was invalid because of how dehydrated she was. So after rehydrating they gave...

Looking for answers, why my girl got sick

It's been 5 days since I had to have my 7-1/2 yr old female put to sleep. I have a lot of grief and other issues I'm dealing with. I think guilt is there too. Could I have done more? The point of this thread is, does anyone have any ideas what could have been wrong with her? She was never a...

Sick cat, day 6, not eating

It has been an absolutely exhausting week. I took her to an emergency veterinary hospital this morning. Our girl Pearl is now at peace. We rescued her 6 years ago and after bringing her home and getting her acclimated & observing her behavior, my wife and I felt she might have been...

Sick cat, day 6, not eating

Thank you all for the responses. We took her to the local Veterinary Clinic which has a number of docs, my wife took kitty in Tues am. I don't know what test was done, but they determined it was gastro and not kidneys. I stand corrected, it wasn't an antibiotic they gave her, but I believe...

Sick cat, day 6, not eating

Hello all, I have a female about 8 years old, she woke up vomiting during the night 6 days ago. She continued to vomit, about a dozen times over the next 12-16 hours. We got her to the vet early next morning, she was already dehydrated, so they hydrated her. They did a blood test and an x-ray...

Abandoned Cat With Some Behavior Issues

Thanks! I did explain to the new family about Jack's behavior and they took it in stride, saying "That's OK" and "He just needs love." That really made me comfortable with them. I know this is gonna sound weird, but I had a dream last night about Jack. My wife & I were walking down our road...

Abandoned Cat With Some Behavior Issues

LOL, he was exhausted I think! Probably his first time in a car, not to mention a cage. And then he ends up in a soft bed! "It was all a bad dream," ha ha!

Abandoned Cat With Some Behavior Issues

Here's a pic of Jack's first night in his new home. I am so happy! My heart broke when I wasn't able to let him in, knowing he was sleeping outside.

Abandoned Cat With Some Behavior Issues

Abandoned Cat With Some Behavior Issues

Everyone...I have GREAT NEWS !!! I got a response from my Craigslist post yesterday, from a family asking if Jack was still available. A dad and his 2 teenaged kids, boy & girl around 16 & 17. They recently had to say goodbye to their cat of 18 years, and were looking for a new one. I talked...

Abandoned Cat With Some Behavior Issues

The box is a whole 'nuther issue. I have no idea if Jack was housebroken. We had a prior male cat who started spraying around the house & we ended up having to replace a carpet. We made him an in/outdoor cat as a last resort. Cat psychology is quite complex.

Abandoned Cat With Some Behavior Issues

The local HS is full. They will neuter him and give him shots for $50 (a bargain), but then he's mine again.

I agree! I can't believe anyone wouldn't want this guy for a pet.

Abandoned Cat With Some Behavior Issues

I have a stray, probably abandoned cat living under my back deck. We’re calling him “Jack” for now. I started seeing him a few weeks ago in the woods around our house, and about 10 days ago he was on the edge of our yard one evening crying for food. My wife and I have been cat lovers for 30+...
