Hey!
Thought I'd give an update on this bug. She has lost all her cream fluff and developed spots instead! So she has striped legs/head/tail, and spotted body. The stripes are darker but same color as the spots. Her eyes lightened quite a bit to grey, and today we noticed blue creeping back...
Yes... This definitely wasn't my first choice vet, but pickings were slim on Memorial Day weekend in a small, mostly military town. I have another vet I am more comfortable with (they gave me syringes as well as tips for Luna when I first got her), and they will be our primary vet.
Yes, took her in right away because I was afraid she had a broken bone. Xrays showed no broken bones, so they diagnosed her with a bad sprain, sent us home with pain killers and orders to not let her play roughly or jump for two weeks.
Emergency vet on a holiday weekend... And now the little...
Its nice he teaches the kitten to drink water, but I'd love to finally solve his peeing issues. :/
Overall, he's a great cat, and we never would have expected him to be so caring for Luna. Though he is a bit jealous she gets wet food every meal and he only gets it occasionally.
Little Luna...
Thought I would update you all. We've only had one incident now where Whiskers became to rough, and our chihuahua went running to Luna's rescue before we could even move. Safe to say, she's got a variety of protectors! We have moved onto weaning, and I managed to snap this picture after Whiskers...
Thought I'd post a couple picture updates of Luna this week! The dark blue/grey/black is starting to give way to a more noticeable blue. In natural indirect light, you can see her whole iris has lightened, and the center has started to become light blue, slowly creeping out to the edges. Her...
You said they are only one month old? They truly may not understand litterboxes. I have a 4 week old kitten and she is JUST starting to stand in a litter box, let alone actually use it.
I will let others chime in but if they are only a month old... They need some more help than an adoptable...
I thought I would swing by and give you all an update. We kept Whiskers (older male) separated from Luna (kitten) for a few days, but they didn't like it very much. He slept against her pen on the floor, and she would try to get to him.
We got a new cat scratching post that is 6 feet tall and...
This is Luna, my little 3 week old rescue. So far we are guessing dilute torbie point with white, but as she grows the spots on her belly are slowly creeping up her sides, so we will see! She has very, very dark eyes as well.
I got some better photos of her eyes, because they still throw me through a loop. Anyone have any more input? I should expect them to lighten at some point... Correct? They are a very, dark blue/gray/brown in bright sunlight, and the rest of the time appear black. They have been like this since...
Thank you! We are actually getting a new big cat tree (6' tall) tomorrow for our family room, and his current post will be moved to my daughter's room (one of his favorite pee spots). He has litter boxes on both floors of our home, and as the kitten grows we will add another.
I hadnt even...
He has been to a vet. Clean bill of health. I use Natures Miracle for cats to clean up after him. We have no carpet, luckily, and he usually pees in laundry piles so it is a bit easier to manage. He was peeing on beds for a while but he stopped.
From what I can gather, he is VERY particular...
Well, now I have a more interesting issue. Last night, our male was cleaning the kitten as usual. I noticed his tail starting to twitch, and pulled him from the pen. He jumped back in a few moments later, rolled kitten into her back and grabbed her by the throat. Kitten began crying so I grabbed...
I'll keep updating. I'm starting to think perhaps she isnt a point, and may lose all the cream and just be a full torbie. Either way, I think she's precious still!
Wanted to post an update since its been a few days and some of her coloring has darkened up. I can see grey and light orange stripes through the white fluff on her body, but it appears only her skin is colored like that. The fur is still the smokey cream. Ears have lightened a tad as well.
Yes, he is quite the big boy at 13 lbs to her 12 ounces!
I figured her having a friend to teach her how to "cat" would be beneficial, I just wanted to ensure I'm not allowing problems to grow in regards to him being too rough or aggressive.
Almost 3 weeks ago, I rescued a one day old kitten. She was "found" (i say abandoned for being a runt because her umbilical cord was tied with thread) with a deceased littermate. I believe she was a runt, as at 3 days old she was only 90 grams.
Anyway, as she has gotten older, our male...
