How long do steroid shots take to work in cats?

They gave him a steroid shot and a covenia injection. Just curious as to how long we should wait for a follow up? He has perked up.

How long do steroid shots take to work in cats?

Our vet saw Jellybean Saturday for basically a small bump on the inside of his lower lip, thinks it is eospholic granuloma but not from fleas bc he's an indoor cat. Gave him a steroid shot and an antibiotic. She wants to wait to see if he improves after 4 weeks. He does seem a bit better but...

Ok, this sounds dumb but I'm trying not to get the poor cat too worked up but at the same time, little dude needs to run off some energy, has anyone had the experience where there cat is playing but then doesn't pounce on the toy and decides to do an Olympic sprinter lap? Usually at that point I...

    Relaxopet legit?

Thanks so much for the quick reply/checking it out! Yeah, the expense was the main concern - feliway and rescue remedy are WAAAY more affordable but as I've posted in other threads, we're doing cat intros so I figured posting to see if anybody had used it was free :)

Blanket or no blanket for visuals?

This is a dumb question but is it play aggression if my cat is like ninja quiet when he goes to pounce? He doesn't hiss or poof his tail he just beeline for her. He is neutered, no health issues (we just went to the vet) and we play with him a ton. Could it be an age thing? He's not even 2.

Blanket or no blanket for visuals?

Welp we tried it and our 1.5 year old immediate made a dash for the barrier to try to pounce no hissing or growling, not sure if he just wants to play or what.

Blanket or no blanket for visuals?

I'm sorry if people are sick of me posting, heck I'm sick of me posting, long story short, we're in month 8 of cat intros and we've moved on to visuals because at this point, it's been 8 months and we've had two behaviorists - one of whom's a vet say it's worth a shot. Long storm short 1.5 year...

    Cat introduction saga month 8

So we've been doing it, so far our younger cat just wants out and our older cat likes to hide and maybe hiss when she passes the gate which is like one time each day. Enticing with treats or playtime on both sides right now is a no go so maybe we keep doing this until it becomes a thing? We're...

    Cat introduction saga month 8

We have visual contact finally based on advice from here and our behaviorist. We have a blanket up and are doing this slowly. So far our 10 yr old grumpy lady hisses and pistures but doesn't do anything. The 1.5 yr old backs off immediately. As much as I would love a more happy zen process ypu...

Alternatives to the Smart Cat Peek and Play Toy Box?

Looking for some recommendations/alternatives to the SmartCat/Pioneer Pet Peek and Play Toy Box, trying to get my boy into foraging behavior and he's getting better at the easier puzzles, I like this because it is wood and sturdy so if anyone has any suggestions for ones that are on the market...

How can you tell if there's blood/crystals in the cat urine if kitty is using the litter box & using traditional clumping litter?

So I have been watching him like a hawk, I also picked up a non-clumping/urine collection kit and set up a separate litter pan, so far no dice. I also set up a pan with pretty litter (first time using it). It's blue and according to the color-coding chart that means alkalinity aka potential...

How can you tell if there's blood/crystals in the cat urine if kitty is using the litter box & using traditional clumping litter?

Hi, My 2 year old boy has had consistent urination but it's a little darker than I'd like it to be, I guess? Does anyone have any tips on how to spot crystals/blood in traditional clumping litter? He is using the box just fine and I AM going to collect a sample to the vet (using NOSORB) for a...

Changing up nap spots/habits - does kitty look normal?

So my experience after about 4-5 cats is that they are creatures of habit but can also be little weirdos, sometimes they'll switch where they are sleeping on us. Case in point, we had a bonded pair where one went with my and one went with my partner at nap time. My latest boy has gone from...

    Cat Introductions Month 6.5/7

You are very very right in that regard, I think we care about our cats so much and we have been trying to find the best (result of taking care of back to back special needs kitties over the years). So visuals at this point are imperative, I do love the spider analogy and think it's very apt.
