Yes, we have a regurgitator. It's not a nice problem, particularly because it's hard to break a cat of the habit of eating too fast. And her sister (the one with the microchip feeder) is a very dainty, slow grazer.
I hope the SureFeed works for you! I've read good things about it.
And the funny thing is that I probably would have bought the SureFeed if it had been available when we needed a feeder quickly. I'm glad I got the MiBowl, though, since it's so compact and the back is already enclosed.
So in this case using surefeed if I have two cats that are grazers and one cat on medical I would need two feeders as I have also the problem that older cat who is on medical diet, truly dislikes it, and eats the kitten food if not checked.
Thanks
I'm in a similar position and just ordered the SureFeed. I don't think you can train them. Some cats will only eat a couple of bites then walk away. You don't really want them to gorge as that can bring other issues. Had a couple cats eat too much too fast and regurgitate.
...seen them do this with a few things, it's absurd!
I'd also wonder how kittens would do taking turns. There's another microchip feeder, the SureFeed, that's broader so they might fit better. That one was out of stock everywhere when I wanted a feeder so I defaulted to the MiBowl, which is...

This is expensive but it works.
@Furballsmom already got at my best suggestion: microchip activated feeders or flaps. We have one cat who has a MiBowl for dry food. The SureFeed is apparently very good, too. They're expensive (the MiBowl is now on sale on the Chewy site for about $180) but worth the money for better sleep and...
...food without stepping on the platform.
If you only have one cat / pet in the home or don't need something microchip activated, you can try this other Surefeed product: The SureFeed Sealed Pet Bowl from SureFlap It's more elevated than the other product but you can still elevate it on...
It sounds like this cat isn't a fan of the kitty door in their house, so the video solution may not be an ideal fit. You could look into SureFeed microchip feeders. You would probably have to get at least 2 so that the two cats that are fine can be trained on one together and the other kitty can...
Sure feed Micro chip feeders are out of stock everywhere and I was hoping to get one first my oldest cat. She's going through some health issues and less hungry, so it takes her hours to finish her food now. Taking her for an ultrasound soon as her appetite decreased again.
Are there any...
Thanks. Unfortunately the manufacturer delayed it a week. Meanwhile I'm giving her the freeze dry raw rabbit as her dry and the instinct minced rabbit. I wish she'd eat the freeze dry reconstituted.
I use the split bowls on the surepet with dry on one side and wet on the other. I'm planning to...
...take food out, it wasn't a huge deal if Sparkle ate her food while she was learning.
I don't know how routine driven she is, but we've moved since I put Lelia on the surefeed, as well as rearranged the room the bowls were in several times, and she's never had a problem eating somewhere...
...by making him go hungry before serving him food. I will make it into 4 servings instead of 2. If we were not in the training mode with the surefeed, I could've left the food out without any worry but at this point, the lid doesn't close because it's just his 3rd day using it. My last resort...

...doesn't eat in the morning I don't want to leave her with nothing all day (terrified of fatty liver!) I also can't leave unlimited wet food out in their SureFeed covered wet food feeder or Bambi will gorge and barf.
Mostly just a rant but any suggestions greatly appreciated!
Thank you,

Has he ever been assessed for food allergies? Magnus didn't eat well and had to be hand fed until we discovered his beef allergy.
Now he's usually a decent eater.
He had to be on prescription food for about a month and then we tried different proteins.
...for the past 3 weeks. I am exhausted and he is draining my energy and my mental health.
I thought maybe he’s a nibbler. So i got him a surefeed to keep the food safe. We are still in the training process so i tried leaving wet treats in it overnight and to my surprise they were still there in...
Actually that's overpriced for it. On the MFG website the price is about $207. Online if you search you might find it cheaper. I also saw another brand that came out on Amazon, but I never heard of it before.
I swear by my microchip feeders. When I got them was a little while after I adopted my...
Just to conclude on this! The great news is that my best friend, clearly taking pity on my stress, bought my cats two of the Surefeed devices for Christmas! So I am spared of having to come up with a more DIY solution that cannot be outsmarted by my cats!
Thanks everyone for their advice...
