Lola gets her teeth cleaned annually. It's part of her vet plan, so it works out pretty good price, considering she also gets unlimited vet visits and an annual CBC too.
2 Canadian cats, one is on a Rx diet, the other won't touch anything other than weruva pate pouches. Total $280 in food, plus $60 for litter. I dream of having lower bills... But my human food bills are 2x theirs, so I think it's fair. They're my kids.
Hey folks, I figured I would provide a small, unexciting update. Pixie has been showing some interest in eating the weruva Breakfast Cat, as well as the Funk in the Trunk. At first, she seems pretty into it (not THAT into it though). For the funk She'd pretty much just take the gravy, and then...
That's so very reassuring @lisahe.
Do you Remeber what raw food she liked?
Pixie does love weruva, but she doesn't like the texture of the chicken flakes, nor the crumbles of tuna. I think she's obsessed with the gravy in the weruva classic line. She also really loves the BFF tuna and chicken...
That's what I was thinking. I think diet changes can be a bit stressful, so holding off and imposing less stress is probably bemefitial to some degree.
Pixie has been diagnosed with IHC. So a high fibre diet is being recommended. I'm thinking that once she gains back some consistency to her...
Hi,
I have another thread running, but I thought it'd be best to keep the topics separate, for the purpose of conversation isolation :)
Has anyone had any success with transitioning a picky eater who has an underlying health condition (e.g. IHC/CKD/Cancer), off of Dry kibble to any wet food? If...
Agreed. The food change, and reduced volume intake explains the stool movement schedule change, more than the idea of constipation. Her stool is firm, but not dry, and feels like playdough... Same texture as its always been. It's just very long, the size of an adult finger
Oh, I totally forgot to mention... When pixie started to lose her appetite, she was treated with a 2 week dose of prednisolone. This was to see if she would stop coughing. She did stop coughing while taking the pill, but also completely stopped eating at the same time. This is when I went...
@FeebysOwner thanks for the points to consider here. I strongly agree, the possible correlation has me wondering too. I will ask the vet if we can get a referral to an endocrinology specialist... Do you say "orthopedic" because of the spine?
Her symptoms are simple. She just doesn't show...
Thanks for this. I've definitely gone through most of these options and scenarios. But, I admit, sometimes I can employ a lot more patience. So I'll keep trying on some of these tactics.
I am not afraid to move towards a feeding tube, since I feel this is Way less traumatic for everyone, and...
Hi Everyone,
So, I've been a long time lurker here, and have reviewed so many of the posts surrounding both cat behavior and nutrition, as well as cat health. All of this, in hope that I will find some clues as to what is wrong with my 3 yr old baby girl Pixie.
First, let me introduce Pixie...
