Almost 1 year old won't stop whining

Thank you everyone for the advice! A schedule for play is probably a good idea, they're already on a schedule for their food and when I clean their litter boxes etc. The problem as well is that our other cat April refuses to let Annie play with the wand toy when she's around, we basically have...

Almost 1 year old won't stop whining

Yeah, we did kind of figure out that when the whining first started and we began playing with her, the whining got worse/more persistent because she knew we'd play with her when she made noises at us. We try our best to ignore it when we can't play with her or when we've just played with her...

Almost 1 year old won't stop whining

She is, she was spayed when we adopted her at about 3 months which we were told was very early for her.

Almost 1 year old won't stop whining

So our youngest cat who is almost 1 year old, Annie, has started to incessantly cry for our attention and it only started maybe 1-2 weeks ago. I mentioned her age because I'm wondering if it's an age thing, but she's never been this bad before, even when she was younger. She'd still cry a little...

Cat toys made of things similar to deer hair?

Thank you for sharing! I wouldn't mind paying more if they're durable, I was just hesitant as the one we have is already falling apart and the reviews on the ones I saw on Amazon were saying they were overpriced for how quickly they fell apart. I'll keep an eye on these and hopefully get some...

Cat toys made of things similar to deer hair?

So recently, both of my cats have been obsessed with this one toy that's actually an attachment to a wand we bought a while ago. It's made of some weird fuzzy/spikey material that has fluff/feathers on the end and I believe it's actually made of "deer hair". They've become obsessed with it to...

Birthday meal for a sensitive stomach

Thank you to everyone for your suggestions! Ironically enough, she's very anti-brushing and anti-laptime. Her favourite activities involve watching birds and playing with a feather wand toy, which we just bought 2 new ones of recently anyway. The problem with the bird watching is that most of...

Birthday meal for a sensitive stomach

We plan on doing this too! But I never thought of wrapping it up beforehand for her to tear up, that's a nice idea. She's our first cat and we missed our other cat's birthday due to the shelter giving us the wrong age for her so we want to make it extra special and celebrate both in the same...

Birthday meal for a sensitive stomach

I hope this is the appropriate place to ask this, I apologise if not! Our Annie's 1st birthday is coming up in August and we want to do something special for her to celebrate. We were thinking of making her a special birthday meal, or a cat "birthday cake" but she has a very sensitive stomach...

Leaving 2 cats alone for a day

I feel very silly making this post but I'm a very paranoid and anxious cat owner (and person in general) so I work myself up over these kinds of things. So, there's the possibility that me and my husband will be away from home from the morning until evening (not staying away overnight) very...

    Litter box terrorizing

Yeah, that's why I had the boxes separate but it seems they don't care for the box in the other location. Yesterday I removed the lids and put them closer together, and they seem to be using both again but not equally. I've yet to see if there's any more pestering when one is using the box, though!

    Litter box terrorizing

Good point! Is putting them right next to each other a bad idea, or? As the space in the room with the litter box that they favor is rather small and cramped, but they could be next to each other. I'll try and do some moving around and see what I can do. Thank you everyone for the advice!

    Litter box terrorizing

I'll try this, thank you! We do have litter mats but they only really cover the front as we have the lids on, and I'm not sure how much litter they'd catch if I were to remove the lids. I apologise for my word choice! I honestly wasn't sure how else to word it. I'll start removing the lids...

    Litter box terrorizing

So we've had our first cat Annie since October last year. We have a newly adopted cat April that we've had for almost 3 months now. Introductions were rocky at first, but I think the two of them are much better than they once were. They rarely "fight", they'll clean each other and I've even...

Cat hates it when I sit at desk

I've found that sometimes cats prefer the simpler things! My cats enjoy sleeping on the top corner of my desk, and I've tried to put a nice comfy bed there for them before or even a fluffier blanket, but they refuse to use it. If I put down a very flat blanket, or no blanket at all, they'll...

    Litter reviews

Thank you for this list! I came to this forum today to make a post asking for advice on litter, but this list is very helpful. I recently switched from Arm & Hammer Cloud Control which I actually did really like, but the pee clumps fell apart too much. I'm a few days into using Dr. Elsey's Clean...

    Vomiting after eating

Oh this is handy advice! I not long ordered a set of 2 but they won't be here for a few days so I'll try this method in the meantime. I'll just need to find all of the hidden ping pong balls we gave them to play with and clean them  Yeah, I always struggle trying to figure out the amount...

    Vomiting after eating

We recently took April to the vet for a wellness check and vaccine we didn't know she hadn't had and she was 10.2lbs so I have noted that down. I do need to weigh our other cat though as it's been a while! Thank you :)

    Vomiting after eating

She seems fine in herself, no lethargy and still drinking and everything normally so that's another reason why I thought it might be the food. I also did a bit of searching about different types of vomit and apparently yellow with food in it indicates that it's food related, but that's why I...

    Vomiting after eating

One of our cats has started vomiting after eating and we're not 100% sure who it is, but we think it's our 1 year old April. We've had her for almost 2 months now and this has only just started over the past few days. So since the day we adopted her, she's never chewed her dry food. I did...
