I do have air purifiers running, but I'll turn some floor fans on for the rest of the roof project. Luckily, the super loud part is finished (but I'm sure it will still be loud to them). I'm hoping the gabapentin they prescribed will keep him calmer during it too.
Thank you for the suggestions...
Hi everyone!
I've been around a little bit talking about my cat Petey who was diagnosed with stomach cancer a couple months back. Luckily, he is still with us and still doing well.
However, one of our other boys (Colossus) who has never had any medical issues before (7yr neutered) was...
Thank you!!
I hope the new vet helps your girl out! I am hoping that my boy is feeling better when I get home from work. I wouldn't stress as much if it didn't take two hours just driving to and from the vet. The bad things is we have a vet about 5 minutes from our house, but we have not had...
Around a month ago(maybe a month and a half) I switched my cats food from Nutro to Farmina. I noticed that the two cats we have who eat the most of the dry had less than firm stool, but this went away for a couple of weeks and I figured it was just from switching foods. In addition to some dry...
I was actually buying it on Amazon. It’s had a $12 coupon for months which is what made me leery. I haven’t added any Nutro back in but I will try that
I’m so sorry. They give us so much joy, yet break our hearts into a million pieces when they go, but they are worth the grief. I’m sure your boy was loved beyond measure and he knew this. My thoughts are with you. I hope time helps heal you of the pain you are feeling now 💕.
We feed our cats a majority wet food, but one of them refuses most wet (the only kind he will gobble up is bff tuna and duck and I don’t want to give him fish daily) so we give dry as well. I was feeding Nutro indoor essentials, but their price has been $12 cheaper and although I should be...
My husband works at a coal mine and when it snows and he walks in the muck his shoes track home gunk that looks exactly like that. Possible anyone walked in something or it dripped off something?? Just a thought. From what I’ve gathered old or blood in the lower intestines comes out looking like...
I also purchased that Animal Essence brand of Slippery Elm that Astragal14 mentioned. I've only used it for a few days though so can't give much input, but so far it's been well tolerated.
I'm curious what the vet told you about pill pockets? That's what I gave been giving my cat his pill in...
That’s what I was thinking too. I’m going to try more frequent meals. I may have to get a timed feeder since myself an my husband both work. You’ve been really helpful. I really appreciate everyone here and their kind words and suggestions. It really helps and makes me feel better.
Hi there! I do think the amitriptyline is at least helping to contribute to the constipation. Aside from the constipation it has worked wonders for him. He was constantly getting bladder inflammation which was deduced to anxiety. He would try to pee anywhere and everywhere. Even ended up with...
I don’t believe the vet mentioned anything about an FNA (and I wasn’t aware that this was a thing). The only thing that he mentioned was that he doesn’t suggest a biopsy. I’ll have to ask him why that wasn‘t done.
He only mentioned an ulcer prior to the ultrasound, but after the ultrasound he...
Hi al!
Back story: I posted in here a few days ago about my 14 year old cat Petey and how he has been throwing up liquid with specks of blood in it. He is currently on Amitriptyline and miralax for constipation. The vet did X-rays and took bloodwork and said that he possibly has hyperthyroidism...
I agree with the above about getting it compounded into either a flavored liquid or a transdermal form. Have you tried Pill pockets? My cat took his pill pretty well with them for several months then one day he decided he would never touch them again! :devilish: For about a week I was forcing...
