    fleas

Hello! We have 3 feral kitties living in our home that we took in a while back. I wouldn't consider them extremely feral but we can't touch or pet them. The problem is we had a flea outbreak so we need to treat all the cats. One cat we were able to get frontline on while she was sleeping...

is it possible for flea treatments to get rid of fleas in a day?

posted on reddit originally but got no response. rescued a 16 week old kitten, doesn't really have much health issues except he had some fleas which i didn't notice before putting him in my room. my mom took him to the vet yesterday for treatment as i washed all of my sheets (i didn't allow him...

That makes sense but he’s had profender and revolution plus twice in this past month.

    Tapeworms

...them off. If the worms don't seem to go away after that, the only reasonable explanation I can think of is that the cat is getting infested with worms again and again. The way to stop re-infestation is to get rid of the reason for the infestations in the first place... Get rid of fleas! :)

Our cat keeps biting his back, esp. when touched

I am glad Don is better. but fleas don't go away on their own - unless you've treated him since this issue started. (And, even then, they can be tricky to get rid of quickly.) If not, that still needs to be pursued. I hope all in your family have recovered!

Has anyone seen this spot on their cat?

What kind of worms? Tapeworms can come from fleas, but they can also come from a cat ingesting an infected mosquito. I know because that happened to my cat. Usually, other forms of worms are not from fleas. How long it takes to get rid of them is somewhat dependent on the type of worm too...

Fleas in house - no pets

I hate to ask this, but are you positive it’s fleas? I had weird itchy bumps all over me like 20 years ago and it was driving me nuts. After a long time of trying to get rid of whatever it was, with nothing working, it turned out I was allergic to the clumping litter. I didn’t think fleas could...

Fleas in house - no pets

We have fleas in our home, which are biting me. We do not currently have any pets. The first week of October, we temporarily (4 days) took in a semi-feral/stray cat who someone we knew was feeding/caring for. She was totally terrified, didn't eat the entire time, and hid under our futon or bed...

    Tapeworms

Bug bombs are dangerous for cats. Most of them use pyrethroid insecticides, which are extremely toxic to cats, and leave an insecticidal residue throughout the "bombed" rooms. A topical flea treatment marketed specifically for cats (NEVER use a flea treatment marketed for dogs on a cat...

    Flea problem

...not know what to do about her. I cannot get rid of the fleas because I cannot treat her. Just trying to take good care of all the cats in trying but I do not know what to do to get rid of these fleas. Does anyone have a suggestion to get rid of fleas on her? Thank you for any help you can...

    Cat aggressive after pawing me

Cats can acquire tapeworms by ingesting fleas when grooming, so that's a possibility. I use a product called Profender to deal with worms. You would need a prescription from your vet for Profender. It's a topical treatment so Ralph can't spit it out. You apply it to the back of his neck...

    Cat and bath bomb

Hi and welcome to TCS! What is a bath bomb? Are you talking about something to get rid of fleas/bugs? You could call the vet and ask, but I suspect they are going to tell you to monitor her for signs she is not feeling well. Odds are it could upset her stomach a bit, but I cannot imagine she...

    Bald spot

Hi. The spot you are talking about seems to be a 'harbor' for fleas, so they may be biting him especially in that area. Flea treatments can take some time to work, and depending on the type you are using, not all kill flea eggs/larvae, so the cycle continues. The effort to get rid of them can be...

Food and soft stools - Nothing works!

Ok. Well, let's give it a try then. I'd be delighted to see it work, for sure. No more plastic tubs! Thanks so much for the insight.

    Flea problem

I’m still dealing with fleas and am losing my mind trying to get rid of them. I have 11 indoor cats and I comb them twice a day, I’ve been giving the Advantage II and trying to vacuum as often as I can, also use a flea spray but I can’t seem to get rid of them None of them go outside. It seems...

    Flea problem

Way back in the day we used to spread 20 mule team borax on rugs and carpeting, keep the cats off of it for a few hours, then vacuum it up well (meaning, go over the same area 3-4 times, use the attachment along the baseboards, etc.) @Babypaws hang in there. Fleas are maddening but if you're...

    Do you shower your cats?

Reading through this thread again reminds me of when Scooter was a kitten. I would always have to wipe his face with a wet cloth. Once he could have solid kitten food he would literally face plant into the food to eat. So he always had a dirty face and would somehow get food on the back of his...
