...kidney disease, and it has an excellent section on anemia. Go here and scroll down to "Feline Infectious Anaemia (FIA): MycoplasmaHaemofelis" where you'll find some links that might be helpful. Otherwise there, scroll to the top for her fulsome coverage.
That's it! Will stay tuned...
...pale/white instead of pink and definitely lost some weight (have to weigh him again tomorrow).
Vet suggests that it could be mycoplasmahaemofelis* and might need a blood transfusion in case he starts panting (who would do an emergency transfusion, I'm curious). Found a non-profit that...

...today! There are slight elevations to his red blood cell & packed cell volume (good!) but my primary vet is hovering between mycoplasmahaemofelis (the chronic kind) or FIP.
So far, he's eating about 1/3 of his (supposed) food requirement by body weight.
Might step up the game and add some...
He's now back home with me. The vet thinks it could be mycoplasmahaemofelis but no jaundice, just pale mucous membrane (gums, ear and etc).
Weight had remained the same throughout his time being warded (Friday > Monday). He eats about a can of kitten food (150g) a day and is prescribed...
Thank you for the links, they are really informative, and for chiming in, appreciate it :)
My regular vet provided a case report which is helpful and from the report, doxycycline was prescribed, however, I am perplexed as to how urgent is the recommendation of a blood transfusion be.
I want...
...vet said no, only just anxious from being at the vet.
Double-checked with them with the blood tests and they are leaning on mycoplasmahaemofelis than dry FIP but also monitoring if it crops up.
So more rest for my kitten. The liver supplement prescribed for him contains silymarin. Also...
...initially tested negative on the SNAP test but positive on PCR about 4 weeks later.
Even went through various possibilities: mycoplasmahaemofelis > FIP > FIV until the positive PCR test. I assume the mycoplasmahaemofelis is a secondary infection. Some food containing liver might help the...
...vet recommends getting a FIP clinical test kit (Idexx) but as it is, I'm not even sure if it's viable. Seeing as it's from mycoplasmahaemofelis, dry FIP [no sign(s) of this] to now, FIV.
He has been slowly improving over the past two weeks. He's currently spoon-fed* kitten food, liver and...
Hi folks, hope you're all doing well.
Terry:
No fever, eating less, drinking less, has partial diarrhea. Super weak, still cannot walk normally, the hind part appears to be heavy and tilts while walking. His hind legs are probably too weak to support his body weight.

...be done to rule out presence of intestinal parasites causing blood loss.
Fleas, ticks are transmitters of blood parasites like Mycoplasmahaemofelis. There is a blood test for this; the Mycoplasmahaemofelis Real PCR
An anemic cat should be tested for FeLV and FIV because these viruses are...
...bacteria is transmitted by an infected flea, tick or mosquito bite.
There is a diagnostic test for this. It is the "Mycoplasmahaemofelis Real PCR".
The treatment for this is an antibiotic to kill the bacteria and also a steroid like Prednisolone to suppress the cat's immune system from...
I second what @white shadow said about Convenia.
Convenia is NOT effective on mycoplasmahaemofelis bacteria.
What IS effective on this bacteria is Tetracycline or Doxycycline antibiotics.
It usually requires a 7-10 day course to eradicate this bacteria, but this bacteria sometimes requires a...
...They have done a lot of blood tests, and I was told his body was destroying red blood cells. They thought he was infected with Mycoplasmahaemofelis (parasite), which is secondary IMHA but he wasn’t responding to treatment so they concluded he had primary IMHA so he was put on prednisolone to...
I'm sorry to hear that. FIP is a scary diagnoses and not one that any cat owner wants to every hear out of a vets mouth. Did they test for Mycoplasmahaemofelis anemia as well? It has similar symptoms. Did they give you any antibiotics on the chance that its a gram negative bacterial infection?
Her symptoms sound like feline infectious anemia, caused by Haemobartonella felis, (now called Mycoplasmahaemofelis) which is an infectious anemia caused by a mycoplasma which is a parasitic organism. It's common in the U.S. but most prevalent in the middle of the country in places like...
...aren't on your list and wonder if the vet has taken these into account:
Calicivirus (the virulent form)
Bartonella henselae
Mycoplasmahaemofelis aka Hemobartonella
Tularemia, Yersinia, Salmonella, Clostridium
Systemic lupus erythematosus
Heartworm
Pyelonephritis
Congenital (i.e., poorly...
...week, at 20%. Which is still terrible but at least something is working.
Now the vet wants to give him antibiotics to fight Mycoplasmahaemofelis. It's a parasite that destroys the cat's red blood cells. This is definitely a possibility since he did come from a shelter, and he did fight off...
