    new kitten

Yes kittens are like destructive toddlers! They are adorable destructive angels. It is why I love kitten rooms. You baby proof one room & only let the the kittens out with close supervision for a couple months while they learn the rules of the house & to let you sleep. Meanwhile I suggest...

    new kitten

I have never heard of this. Especially since each time they go into heat their chances of mammary cancer increases. I would want to research this and maybe get a second opinion.

    new kitten

One baby proof your stove today so your kitten will not accidentally turn it on! Two be “evil” and put the kitten in a kitten room when it wakes you up. Calmly place the kitten in a room with food, water, litter, bed & couple of toys. Then close the door and no matter what do not open the door...

    Selective Incontinence

Peeing out of the box is often a big red warning sign health wise. It hurts to go per & the cat associates that with the litter box. So the cat avoids the box. That is why we keep saying to take the cat to the vet. Nick my mom’s healthy 2 year old peed out of the box...., he was peeing blood...

    Selective Incontinence

I would try deep cleaning his pee spot with an enzyme cleaner (check with a black light.) then place a litter box without a lid over his pee spot with cat attract litter in it. I would give him a night light to, just in case. Do you have other cats that could be stressing him? & I would still...

Zorro bites my dad's toe during nightime

I’m of the “look cat if you wake me up, you are locked out for the rest of the night” evil group. My advice? If you can set up a cat room with food, litter box, water, a bed & a couple of toys. If the cst wakes anyone up, the cat is calmly placed in the room, the door is shut and the cat is...

Afraid of hands: what to do!

No I meant clicker train to sit for treats, then drop said treats so your hands are far from a cats mouth. Partly because clicker training can help with bonding and help a cat better understand the human. It sounded like the cat got aggressive over treats, hence my suggestion of clicker...

Afraid of hands: what to do!

Hmmmm maybe clicker training can help with the warning nips? I have heard lots of growling and fight like nooses but never hissing in a playful way. Cami hisses at her brothers when they jump on her/treat her like prey because she is smaller & they are bored.

What hair length will my kitten be?

I would still beg on fluffy. I googled images of 7 week old Maine coon kittens and they had a pretty BBC skinny tail. So my best bet would still bet on fluffy.

What hair length will my kitten be?

GoldyCat you are right! Cami’s tail was like twice the thickness of her short haired brothers but I don’t think it reached full poof until she was around 4 months old!

What hair length will my kitten be?

Oh I stand corrected Maine Coons keep growing until 3-5 years and it says vets say to feed them kitten food for 9 months. That said I fed my siamese mix mostly regular wet food & some kitten dry food until he turned 2 & he turned out fine (regular size, not fat.) (He got kitten wet food until...

What hair length will my kitten be?

Just based on those genes and the length of fur already. I would expect a BIG fluffy long haired cst. Be sure to feed your adorable baby kitten food until he is 2.5 years old! Maine Coons keep growing up to 2.5 years. You are so lucky; he will be adorable! 😻 Cami at around 6-7 weeks old &...

    Help with teeth brushing!

I couldn’t get my cat to let me use a atop on him. So I bought a water additive. I talked to the vet and she said it was a good one BUT I still want to do a bit more research on it (& it probably wouldn’t work with a fountain.)

Afraid of hands: what to do!

I have never met a cat afraid of hands. Though I did watch an episode of my cat from hell where a cat was terrified of hands! The couple wound up soaking gloves in rotisserie chicken so their hands smelled friendly. I would try petting the cat with a wooden back scratcher and or ignoring the...

Resident Cat terrified of New Kitten - HELP

A lot of older cats don’t even want to be in the same room as a kitten until they are 6-12 months old. After my hyper bully jumped his older brother whenever he got bored, my advice may be different. I would reintroduce them, site swapping (he gets the house 12 hours a day, his room 12 hours a...

Moving to another state with a cat

My cat would be kicked off the plane!🤣 He is a nervous scaredy-cat & a talker. He yeowls loudly in the bathroom for attention or boredom & isn’t above screaming at me when he wants me to fix something or is anxious. He is also REALLY slow to warm up to people! Add in due to his weekend 40-60...

Moving to another state with a cat

I would do the rv.... put all the cat stuff in your rv (& all your bedding, unwashed comforter & pillow case if you can.) I would also ask for a light sedative for both cats for a week (& a copy of their vet records.) Better to have it & not need it. If you can rent the rv for 1-2 days...

    Cat and Baby

Can you give the cats a bed on the day bed or better yet a shelf with cat beds on it above the day bed?(though they may still prefer the day bed.) My guy sleeps in his bed next to my pillows. Maybe some decorative pillows between baby & the cat bed on the day bed?

So many questions - but how can I entertain a feral kitten?

Do you have an extra human to distract/play with the kittens while you play with midnight? Can you give him a couple of windows to look out of?
