Sorry, this is kind of long...So I'm very grateful that my new kitten (Maude) is getting along great with my other cat, BUT there seems to be an issue when it comes to food. Leia, my other cat, has always been really good with not overeating and pretty much just nibbles throughout the day (she's an odd cat - any kind of food, even treats, raw fish, etc. don't really impress her much). Maude, however, seems to just eat everything in sight, and has started vomiting after she eats (I'm pretty sure because she just eats so much at one time). The vomiting happened only once yesterday. She also has had diarrhea pretty much ever since I adopted her a week ago. I'm assuming (and hoping) that this is just because she's getting used to her new environment/diet. I've palpated her belly and everything and she does not appear to be in any pain.
Anyway, I've stopped just leaving the food out and I'm bringing it out only 2 times a day, letting Leia eat first, then feeding a measured amount to Maude. There has been no vomiting today so far. I already have an appointment to take them to the vet on Friday to get their shots, so I will definitely bring this up.
Do some cats just inhale their food like that, or could there be something else going on? Thanks!
