Background-We moved a month ago and I’m going on vacation tomorrow. I have carpet beetles and want to get rid of everything basically. I got rid of my cat’s tree which was made of carpet. Now I notice her hiding tunnel might have evidence of carpet beetles. I want to get rid of it too. But I don’t want to get new stuff until I know the problem is resolved. I’m concerned that getting rid of her tunnel too would stress her out even more with me gone for 8 days. Like she wouldn’t have as much familiar things.

But, it could be aggravating her asthma.

So idk if I should just get a new tunnel or try to vacuum it really good and keep it for at least the time I’m gone.

What do you think?

Kitties often love new hiding places. If you get her something now she may have time to get used to it before you leave. Almost anything that is an easily cleaned surface might be better for her asthma. You can always use a blanket or towel inside it that can easily be washed. If you put a shirt or something that has your scent on it inside ,it may give her a sense of security while you are gone. Adding a shelf for her at windowsill height could allow her to get up off floor level and maybe be able to look outside?
