One of my cats is having some issues, vet suggested to see if he likes going on walks.

I know each style of harness has had some success. There are and overwhelming 280 4-5Star cat harnesses on amazon. This cat is laid back, won't fuss with anything I put on him. He will only try to get out of it if he gets spooked.

Im looking for a couple of recommendations and what to stay clear of.

No need to read on but my on amazon searching results:
These styles seem to be the most reviewed, and highest reviewed.

I personally think he wont notice wearing the thin strap one, but its the easiest to get out of. The second is thick straps but velcro...easy to put on but I dont understand how every cat using it dont escape (but apparently they dont). The third looks like the second but with straps/clasps.The 4th is my favorite thin straps over some padding, and has a belly cross pad (concept looks great but the other designs are much more common).

I use a jacket with velcro closings for my cats why I fly. They've never gotten out of them yet, even though they're generally pretty good Houdinis.

I have used a few harnesses. The first one you showed, I did not like. It was pretty easy for my cat to get out of it and much harder to put on too. I have used this harness for about 8 years now
I also have a larger cat who uses this harness

Basically, you just start buying them until you get one you like. One that fits. Fits like you want it to. That you trust to be hard to get out of. That's easy to put on.
It's just a keep trying thing until you find the perfect harness for your cat. (cats are all shaped a little different and what's great for one cat, may be just all wrong for another)

************ Sorry last post was incomplete, no edit option. I bought #2-#4 that I posted, and shadowrescues s2ndecond suggestion. And the figure 8 one from the dollar store (not to use outside, just for comparison.

Except for the $1 the all are easy to put on, my cat might be too laid back to find out if any are escape proof until its too late. He just doesn't care if I put clothes or a harness on him. He goes limp when its happening and doesnt notice it after. Hes the same way with cat clothes.

syzygycat syzygycat , mines just the opposite. He thinks anything you try to put on him is trying to eat him.
I've got one cat like that, super human strength, struggles with all his might if I need to put his collar on, pick him up, put him in his crate, wipe him off when he gets into the garbage. And I have a 3rd cat whos body turns into jelly, she can slink out of anything and fits in the weirdest spots.

But Luke, cat in the photo, is the exact opposite, he will tolerate anything, in 9 years he has hissed 2 times. He wont react when the other cats bite him or sit on him. Even as a kitten never bit or extended his claws when playing. The other cats need to be crated to be driven anywhere. Luke will sit on the passenger seat indefinitely. Hes a really awesome cat, but needs every wall of the house to be soaked in his urine for no reason. Hopefully taking him on walks will curb that a little, nothing else has helped.

First attempt outside, more his "pet me" behavior than walking or escaping, but good start. No clue if he can get out of this harness but the velcro one wouldnt close

I started walking my cat when she was a couple months old. I had the kitten version of “come with me kitty” and I loved it. When she got too big for it, I got her a vest one with Velcro straps and I don’t think she liked being hugged like that so she started to flop over outside. I went back to the “Come with me kitty” an adult size. :)

Hes only doing it outside, so that's probably not it the issue with my cat.

I sprained my ankle so the walking thing is on hold for a couple of weeks.
