Where my cats are
Sorry for missing last week's question! We were stay-cationing and I didn't even realize I'd not posted until late in the week! :paperbag:

What is something quirky/amusing your cats have done recently?

The other day Noodles caught a fly and then sat there glaring at me like I was supposed to produce another one.:paranoid: I had praised her efforts and everything.:dunno: I guess I could have opened the garage door and one would have eventually found its way in eventually. :lol2: But wow the grumpy cat glare was on point. :lol2:

My former feral Piper decided she just had to climb the drapery last night. Who knows why. She's got a kitten mind in a big roundish adult body. So she ended up fumbling and landed in the litter box.

Of course she just shook it off- walked three feet away and licked her paw like it was all part of her plan.

Baby Girl didn't feel well yesterday and slept the day away.
She's much better now, and decided that a little rug we keep near the back door had to be completely destroyed.
When I went to feed the cats, one of them ran ahead to his spot and used 3 other cats as hurdles so he wouldn't get slowed down
Queen Bee has found this little knit blanket that one of the dogs likes to sleep with and has decided it's a good toy to stalk and attack. Since it's so lightweight, she can dive with her paws stretched into it and slide across the floor, and I guess the fact it moves with her just gets her worked up. It's wonderful to see your 12 year old cat playing like this :D
Her brother decided that air particles are something to play-run from, and will pin his ears, arch his back, drop his head down and to the side and stare at nothing with his tail swishing. Then he'll take off like a jet out of the room at warp speed and a few seconds later he's back, rushing around with his tail screwed up into a candy cane shape.
Why the hell would anyone watch TV for entertainment if they could just get a cat :flail:

The other day, I got back from the store and taped up the gaps in my window now that my AC is in it. Remy was disappointed that I didn't feed him dinner the second I got home, so he kept sneaking up to me and swatting at me to get my attention so I'd feed him. He's such a brat sometimes.

My two did the funniest thing a few weeks ago. Mingo was curled up asleep in an armchair. There was a fly loose in the house, lazily careening around the dining room nearby. Lily saw it and started following, watching it intently. The cat and the fly slowly made their way into the living room, Lily never taking her eye off the fly. It moved up and over the armchair, Lily following. She went on up onto Mingo, and the chair exploded cats.

I couldn't stop laughing. As 1 bruce 1 1 bruce 1 said, who needs TV?

Mowgli Monster loves to hide and jump out at us. He's got a new pot of cat grass on the balcony that's smaller than the last one and is still trying to hide behind it, rather unsuccessfully. His rump and tail are clearly visible, but we're pretending to be startled when he jumps out.

Estella is a very smart cat. She recently opened a drawer--we have no idea how--on a heavy, Craftsman style sideboard that we use for our tv. She pulled out a bag of catnip and flung it around the living room for the other cats. I had been gone from the room only long enough to get a second cup of tea.

My Vincie girl has a crush on Harvey, my new neighbor's cat-son. We live in a duplex/townhouse. Ever since she me him she's been sleeping on their deck steps and peeking in their slider to look for him and his brother, Wendell. When she and Harvey fist met they touched noses and Vincie kissed him, so sweet. I guess he is
her boy-toy since he is 2 and she'll be 19 on 14 July.

The other morning, I went to the kitchen as usual to get my cup of coffee, and Bynx was unusually excited to follow me. As I was getting my cup, Bynx ran over to the where we keep our shoes and started making a ruckus. I looked over and there he was, staring at me as he was pushing a dead mouse towards me. "Look mom, look what I did!" I praised him and Chester, (Chester was there too, so Chester could have been the hunter, but Bynx was the one giving it to me).
I will say that I'm impressed and thankful that they waited till morning to give me their gift, and didn't plop it on the bed in the middle of the night. But the fact that the second I got out of bed, they HAD to show it to me right away, makes me imagine them as excited little children just waiting in anticipation...so cute.
Glad we have a couple of successful hunters in the house, to keep the critters away. This is their first kill since we adopted them. Although, I hope we don't get anymore mice! (I already have an idea how it got in, so it shouldn't happen again)

I've been sleeping on my side instead of my back, so Demi can't dance on top of me at 4am. So he tapped on my back, mama turn over! When I wouldn't turn over, he took a flying leap and landed on my side, then he danced on my side at 4am. :rolleyes3:
