Why is he so fascinated by my ice tea maker when it is brewing?!?!? Are your cats super interested in your coffee or ice tea maker?!?!? Mine is .... so much so he keeps going on the counter repeatably to check it out! I just keep wind up tossing him off the over and over again while it brews. :nono: Finally I tossed him in the bathroom when he upped his game and started pulling on the tea bag strings. :angrywoman: Of course my twerp also will drink cold tea if given a chance.

Ah life with a meezer mix, where every day he finds a new form of trouble! :argh:

Hey while I’m at it can anyone recomend a trash can, he can’t knock over? Mine is short and has a lid .... but he will knock it over if something smells interesting. :angrywoman:

I think it isn't the ice tea maker so much as the tea LOL

I don't know about a trash can...if I type in pet proof trash can, they're pricey, so I think search for one without the key word of "pet", I guess :dunno:

Hi. I don't know about the tea - the only kitchen appliance/item that any of my cats were interested in was the can opener; no need to go further with that one...

But, you could check out dog proof trash cans. Probably more for the purposes of keeping them out rather than stopping them from being tipped over - but the end result is the same.

Mizu is fascinated by anything that sounds like water. Dripping, steaming, percolating...all things water will get her attention. She respects the coffee maker and keeps a safe distance but she does watch it while it brews. She will climb a brita pitcher while it's dripping water too. Might be the sound it's making if water is an interest.

It is the noise.... the tea smell and strings with paper tabs are just a bonus. I just don’t know why it fascinates him so. We have called a truce on the sink and he watches the sink from off the counter with a little coaxing. But the ice tea maker just is extra interesting for some crazy reason.

Mine are obsessed with the printer. I used to have it by the big cat tree and they loved to watch it print and swat the paper as it came out. I had to get a new one and it's by the router. Sophie uses it as a chair.

I bought a round plant hanger hoop that has brackets on it that can be screwed into a cabinet or a wall. Then I bought a tall round waste basket, set it inside and no more tipping.
