Hi everyone.
I will be moving states with my cat, and I've never taken him on a long car ride before. I'm wondering what type of carrier would be best for him in the car.

Any other general traveling tips would be appreciated.

Thank you!

I’ve been traveling with my cat 12h+ twice and I set her up a large kennel on the passengers seat, similar to the one posted below, secured with some straps. She had her litter box there, her bed, some blankets, toys, even hammock. We fed her during breaks.

How long is the ride? I'd use a hard carrier lined with a puppy wee wee pad or towel. If something happens the cat might get jostled around and the carrier should keep any liquids that might happen contained.

Do not roll down the windows or play loud music and most importantly make sure the cat does not have any opportunity to escape during the ride or after the move.

Our carriers look to be discontinued. They are Wacky Paws V2 large. We had to fit four cats into a MINI Cooper. I also was able to line the four of them up in the back seat of my sedan for vaccinations.
We drove from Phoenix to Oklahoma City to Indianapolis to D.C.
There was a barrier installed between the front two seats, a disposable litter box out, and one cat got to get out at a time between fuel ups.
We also put up window shades. Boyfriend's are custom to his MINI, but I think mine were ShadeSox off Amazon. I did my rear window and rear side windows because I had guinea pigs and parrots in my car.
