Is This A Long Hair Or Short Hair Kitten?

Hello, We are thinking of adopting this kitten from a family member and Im curious if it's a short or long hair. I assume long but maybe it just has its winter coat? It was mostly outside from birth. Thanks!

That's a pretty kitten and will most probably be long haired.

gorgeous boy. probably part maine coon. he's not short haired. might be medium haired but probably long haired

Thank you both. Its mother is a yellow short haired farm stray, so its surprising to me that it's has longer hair.

That’s an adorable kitty! He looks like a long hair. Short hair is dominant in cats, so mom must be a long hair carrier, and dad, either a long hair carrier (which would give the kittens a 25% chance of being longhaired), or a longhair himself (which would give the kittens a 50% chance of being longhaired).
