We have at least one really good thread about funny commercials...but let's take a look at the others!

What's the worst commercial you've seen lately, and why is it so bad?

Not TERRIBLY lately, but I see them here and there. The Progressive Insurance commercials starring the stupid policy. I always feel like that animated policy is living high off of the money it makes on US!

I couldn't find the worst one...all dressed up and living large...

There's one where the oil riggers are eating soft serve ice cream coming out of the rig and suddenly a geyser goes off - of sprinkles. That one is so stupid I don't even remember what it is they're selling.

It's Geico, of course. They specialize in silly commercials.

They aren't running them anymore, but the State Farm commercials in which the customer said the jingle and then either an agent appeared where they were or the customer was transported to the insurance office were pretty bad. I heard someone took that literally and sued them when her agent didn't magically appear but I don't know if that's an urban legend or not.

Almost any commercial featuring personal injury lawyers- formerly known as ambulance chasers- would qualify. Why? Because the person doing the ad always has such a pained expression, like they really care about anything but the money.

I agree with all of the above. I really hate the Progressive commercials and wouldn't buy Progressive if it was the last insurance company on earth. I thought Flo was bad, but that guy is simply awful. Geico isn't much better, although the gecko is cuter.

(I do have to say, though, that I love the Farmers Insurance ads, partly because I like JK Simmons. "We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two." And "We are Farmers....bum bum bum bum bum bum bum!"

And was it State Farm who had insured the she-shed that was burning down? OK, I liked that one, too. I still think her husband burned down her she-shed!)

But I digress....sorry.

The Frank Thomas commercials for some kind of testosterone enhancer. They used to be on every morning on TWC. Rick always has TWC on in the early morning before he leaves for work. It got to the point where one of us would say, "Well, it's 10 of 6! Thomas is on tv!" For some reason, that commercial grates on my last nerve.

Cialis, Viagra.

Choice Hotels "bodda book badda boom" Seriously?

I'm not done, not by a long shot, but I'll shut up now.

Haha, yes, and the local commercials where the business owner has his family members "acting" in it, because those are always hilariously terrible.

There's one that plays during the nightly news here, where the business owner (I think it's a tire service) and his wife finish each other's sentences, and I'm not sure if that was scripted or that's just how they talk but it makes me crazy.
Cialis, Viagra.
No kidding. I don't want to hear about your bedroom issues, dude.

I don't like any commercial advertising prescription medicines, I have heard that doctors don't like them either. Patients come in asking for a specific medicine and it may not be the best choice for them. When those commercials go into who shouldn't take it they add not for people who are allergic. They honestly think that someone would knowingly take something they are allergic to.

I haven't had TV service since August 2013 so I don't see commercials. No ads on Hulu or Netflix.
Lucky you! I have the Hulu with ads...I know it isn't much more to go ad-free, but the budget is tight!

Our TV is a dust collector, but I do remember liking the "dude your getting a dell" commercials and thinking they were funny.
There was this lawyer commercial on about 20 years ago and the guy had black hair with white eyebrows. 21 years ago, he had white hair and white eyebrows and I remember thinking..... "bruh :headshake:"

Auto fair commercials. They have silly sing song auto fair where it's fair or some stupid thing. Those who live in mass probably know which one I'm talking about.

There's an auto commercial where it's just this funky music with a white cross over vehicle zooming through the city. I think it's Lincoln?

Oh yes the Geico one. The one that says so easy even a caveman can do it with that dumb music....

I can't think of any one in particular but I hate HATE HATE pharmaceutical commercials. I only watch one and a half hours of tv each week and during that time I'm trying to escape from stress. I don't need to be reminded of my mortality or side effects of medications. Those commercials are not good for my mental health.

Remember the JG Wentworth commercials? The guy in the gold jacket who wanted to buy out people's annuities? He was so annoying.
